logged out, trying to log back in now brings up this msg,
“Network communication between your computer and the EVE Online server has been interrupted.
This may be caused by local internet connectivity issues, by a server reboot, or by a temporary network disruption between your location and the EVE Online data center.”
I can now log in although I have to select the ‘connect’ button after I get the connection error upon entering the main screen. There seems to be no lag at all although the chat system is down and so when people are able to log on, they just need to be wary of that.
Logged in on all accounts only to have this "EVE System > Could not connect to chat server live.chat.eveonline.com:5222 " keep popping up. WTF is going on
so as for now … am i assuming that the DDoS imigration system blocks any suspicious connection or connections which it hasnt whitelisted yet. in other words. those connections which are right now online in eve got checked and probably verified as non DDoS attacker. while those which cant login yet waiting for their check. that process can take minutes up to hours depending on how many accounts and/or connections the server daily gets. so … in short, if your IP/connection/whatever you want to call it didnt got checked yet from the imigration system will you simply get blocked until the system gets to you. + it seems the DDoS attack still goes on cause no chat ingame and it is extremely laggy and unstable. better hope (if you are a nullsec person/corp) that your enemies arent verified yet xD! anyways thats how a friend explained it to me when a DDoS imigration system takes place.
Eastern US here…can connect via free vpn out of UK. Nothing in chat, but hey…that means the bad guys can’t see me either. This sucks, but CCP will fix it. If you’re gonna cast blame, blame the hacker assholes.
connection seems ok for me tho after trying relogging a few times still no local chat. Other channels seems ok.
Anyone typing in local throws an exception error

oh, looks like the ccp flamers arrived in this topic too. i mean as if any MMO runs to 100% fine and without any issues ö_ö wait until CCP gets rid of directx 9 and all the potato pc users cant play eve online anymore cause atleast direct x10 or higher needed =P
wait, its really that bad o.o? 7 days already? i mean i was only logged in (during the DDoS attack) at the 25th, 28th and 29th i thought the DDoS stuff started yesteday o_o … i had no issues … it only started today where i suddenly was unable to login. it goes on for 7 days already? waaaaao x.x.
The dev blog is about how CCP fixed the chat system – and they actually did manage to keep it unbroken and working properly for months --, which is now broken again. It is irrelevant when this blog was posted.
I also have a dev blog from 2018 that details how CCP has taken many steps to mitigate DDoS issues in the future:
That is another example of CCP telling “Everything is fine” when things are not fine in reality. This is related to current issues because their efforts were clearly not sufficient or had to be toned down again because CCP actively culled their customer base.
It is again irrelevant when this blog was posted. All I talk about in my post is how CCP says things are fine and it turns out they are not.
i wonder if this has to do with goonswarm etc. again and taking the servers down to have a safe reinforcement timer or whatsoever … is there currently a war in eve online? xD cause everytime when goonswarm gets pushed into a corner or gets trouble happenening for some reasons always DDoS attacks x3. OR its code and wants to stop all miners from poking their very own rocks in the belts
Seems like I can’t connect right from launching. It always fails, but once the server info (like player count) fills in, I can connect from in client. At which point the chat server will not connect.
Also, game is intermittently very laggy, and then suddenly responsive. I mean, like, 15s to activate my guns, or they activate immediately, not really any 1-2s lag.
I managed to complete an anom, but I can’t really call this “a playable state”.
