A Open Letter to CCP and Players, changes need to be made for good

Great post OP! Glad that it is getting noticed and a strong reception.

By the way… CCP only makes 4 million a year!!! :open_mouth:

This. They deserve no more and no less protection than any player. PVP, industry, social, PVE, trader all deserve exactly the same amount of protection - none.

The only thing we all equally deserve is to be able to choose how we play in the sandbox; and after that, dealing with the consequences of those choices is on us, not CCP.

Only 31 sentences… Truly impressive.

actually, you couldn’t be more wrong. most of the eve players are toxic, period. this idea of just go kill everyone as they undock from a station before the screen even loads, use an alt to loot, profit. that’s not enjoyable, it’s toxic. who wants to pay to play a game where unless you are a seasoned vet with loads of isk, you are meat. There is a reason that most successful games segregate pve and pvp. not everyone who enjoys playing the game, enjoys pvp. Also, ccp has never done anything to make areas more safe. they literally marketed the game as free for all kill or be killed. What hasn’t worked so far is providing any new content, like at all, for years. Interfering directly by manipulating the player markets. No catch up mechanics in place outside of pay to win for newer players. some of this is normal, some of it needs changing. countless care bears…exactly the self righteous toxic attitude that is causing the death of this game. who are you exactly? you are no one, not special, not informed, not knowledgeable. people like you come on the boards and troll and insult and diminish anyone’s opinion who doesn’t align with yours. fun fact for ya, we don’t care about your opinion either. if you want pvp, don’t be a little “care bear” and war dec every 5 man corp with a station, don’t camp trade hubs and suicide gank, you speak as if this was a skill or an accomplishment. killing people who can’t fight back is cowardly and unimpressive. go to low or null and have at it, that’s what those areas are for. it’s always the same folks slamming the pve’rs, the wanna be pirates who can’t function in an actual pvp environment without 50 friends. no skill, only take the fights you are sure to win, mocking people who want to mine or manufacture or research. no one mocks you for wanting pvp, so why do you feel like you have a justification to mock those who play a game with different goals? because you are toxic. if eve is going to survive, it needs new handlers or new direction. at the end of the day, it’s the players who make the game succeed or fail and history doesn’t lie. we had 30k unique players now we have 10-15k. it’s not the toxic, station camping tough guys leaving, it’s everyone else. so, good luck war dec’ing and station camping each other because if things don’t change, that’s all that will be left of eve. a handful of pvp fanboys with no one to hunt or camp.

I’m pretty sure @Karak_Terrel will be delighted to read that convoluted unbroken chain of wall of text. :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :smirk:

Farmville is that way. Animal Crossing is the other way. You seriously got into EVE expecting it to be a fair game where everyone lives in peace and love? Why do you think like this? Please respond I am genuinely curious what drove you to say this.

Like Dota 2 and Moba games are TOXIC. There are really really bad people who are extremely toxic. All video games and EVE have their toxic people.

Well he started with “actually, you couldn’t be more wrong”, and since we all know that I’m actually right, he must be wrong anyway. So I did not read the rest

Edit:
Actually I did peak a bit and it reads like a carebear turned to eleven. You probably get multiple bingo lines from that wall of text.

Pretty sure he’s also responsible for the new equally boring “how to fix eve” thread I fell asleep reading.

I can do that for myself, at a fraction of the cost. I don’t need you to advocate for me and I certainly don’t want you to put me in a place of being a victim. Keep your own stories to yourself.

Kindly thanks.

Holy wall of text Quafeman.

We live in space bruv. Use the space bar.

You seem like a really neat person, and not at all a weirdly cringe piece of garbage. I’m glad you are here to contribute to these forums with your well thought out and meaningful points.

That’s what I did today: went to faction warfare low sec.

Would you believe me if the Amarr/Minmatar zone is chock full of risk-averse warzone carebears on the pro-Amarr side flying empty-ship frigates to deplex their numerous +150% LP Tier 4 sites?

And would you believe me if just today a guy raged for losing an empty t1 frigate in FW low sec and not being allowed to farm in peace?

The carebear “leave me alone” mentality permeates all and it’s that mentality that has to go, it doesn’t have to do with a particular gameplay nor security space.

Then this happened:

Then:

This mentality is what’s killing Eve. People That Can’t Have Fun And Must Always Farm Uninterrupted.

This FW rework needs to come faster. I don’t know all the details but If CCP put some thought into it like the mining balance pass I am all for that. I hear bigger ship players might partake in FW so a plus for me. Roll over people like him easily in my BS.

Even if the FW changes come and make AFK farming in lowsec like this impossible, it doesn’t change the fact that there are players who will always say rather than do. They’ll say: “don’t bother me, bother another guy, leave me alone to make ISK” rather than do something like:

  1. Fit their ship to actually fight
  2. Fit their ship to not be greedy max-yield fit
  3. Learn game mechanics and piloting skills to evade hunters or gankers
  4. Do sub-optimal things in game because it is fun and they enjoy it

I’m not a ganker but I get lumped together with them a lot. It is because we see the same parasitic mindset that drives people to not have fun in a game and instead treat it like their space job and try to optimize the fun away into a nearly-passive activity.

And I still see it in lowsec.

I thought that there are npcs spawning inside the plex? What shitty design is it that you can farm this with an empty ship?

Defensive plexing is in your space so the rats dont shoot you. These tards are more risk averse than mission runners.

You’re not making bad points…the problem is that they’ll never be taken seriously by anyone in a position to make a difference. The “living universe” concept has died I think. What we have now is an atm fueled spaceship-themed murder simulator.
