If the falling players don’t kill Eve, there is always the death of our sun, the upcoming collosion with the Andromeda galaxy, or (if we survive all that) the entropy doom of the entire universe. Eve is dying. We just don’t have a good handle on the timeline.
For keeping new players, they tend to put everything on one basket and get ganked. As veteran its easy to prevent, but it’s killing retention of new players. Plenty of space to pvp but frankly wormholes and low are very lightly populated. S9me parts of null aswell.
There’s nothing even remotely difficult to understand about highsec.
There is a learning curve for new gankers. Some of the benefits of highsec stop working unexpectedly. Also, the faction police are a surprise when they first show up.
For a new player it is.
Keep safeties on green and don’t even attempt to shoot other players? The rest like d-scan, don’t be AFK, pay attention to local and such should be the same.
Yup and that is 100 percent their fault.
And that’s the lesson they need to learn
Save Hilmar’s Mortgage
Report a ganker for greifing today!
Edit: damn gankers flagging my posts. Whats up not griefed enough new players out of the game yet?
Hilmar only got a 350 million USD bonus 2 years ago so he definately needs more assistance to survive.
I heard that he spent most of it on skins.
Protection? Against what? If you feel threatened go to the police and file a complaint.
Even though I prefer PvE most of the time I also enjoy PvP so you don’t speak for me. You barely speak for yourself, I don’t think you were elected to represent anyone. Plus, your OP is fake news anyway.
How disconcerting. LOL
How many players is it pushing away, do you have a number?
You mean the I win button? You could always start a suggestion thread seeing how this one is so popular.
They’re both already in the game.
“I believe the game itself even though has existed for many years, there is no material defects within it, you need to balance out the players, especially the players who do not speak, if promoting and retaining the corporate CEOs and null sec PvP players is the only goal, you shall wish for a very strong luck in this decade”
Everything is always permanently dying. I don’t see the use of formulating a business strategy around the obvious.
Thank god.
Is there a translation of this gibberish anywhere?
That’s what I was wondering.
Also what/where/who is it sourced from?
It’s from OP. The forum system had an error, wouldn’t let me quote it. Going to to try to quote it again…
See if it worked now… Edit yes, it did. That’s where it’s sourced from, straight from OP. I thought someone else could decipher it cause I cannot be bothered with riddles.
Ah got you. Teach me to read the thread lol.
I assumed it was Hilmar begging for pennies again.
Would that be an ISK sink or risk vs reward?
Protect your neck.
No, it wasn’t a bug…
When the AI code was implemented, it was based on standings and CCP forgot to limit the NPC’s to only attacking players.
The way it is now, warping into an Asteroid Belt will have various enemy Faction NPC’s all mining peaceably next to each other like one big happy family. And as soon as you land on grid, the ones you have bad standings with will turn hostile, target you and or call in Reinforcement Fleets to attack you. And to top it off, the ones you have positive standings with won’t even help / rep you due to the limitations written into the code.
Talk about an immersion breaker…

All software bugs are man-made, or rather in this case as you point out, man-oversights
I still love referring to that newbiecide on the undock of a rookie system where the triglavians massacred rookies by the dozens. Funniest thing that I saw happening since 2011, as I never was a victim of concordokkening - which is a more subtle variation on the theme of artificial unintelligent reasoning. It is quite clear that ccp never implemented the three laws of robotics into the AI of select NPC groups, lol.
I still stand by my opinion that PvE is just a means to an end, namely to fund losses (due to pvp mostly). I’ve had that opinion since the day the first player tried to kill my ship. And I absolutely loved the triglavians in hisec for their vicious behaviour - alas it had to be toned down because of “complaints” from people who didn’t know how to use their user interface.
But there’s just no helping or even safeguarding some people, unless one flies the ship for them, lol. In other games it is well-known that one can’t out-heal a stupid tank (the typical cleric/warrior situation). Yesterday I had just finished running a daily SP task when a rookie came into the same anom. He was in a rookie ship. I stayed and gave assistance by webbing and target painting the single frigate npc that was on grid. Alas, our rookie managed to get himself killed, don’t ask me how, he was not pointed. He zoomed off in his green egg and docked up. I followed, tried to give him some money via in-station trading - which he refused. He logged off seconds later. Rage Quit ! Frustration ! Bad Game perhaps, who knows. Not a satisfied customer. The only protection those players need is from themselves, we can’t help them. Yes, it sounds elitist, but that’s how EvE has been successful, it’s the nature of this beast of a game. If players can’t stand losing a free ship to an npc, get another free ship and try again until they know what they’re doing, there’s no way any game designer can meet their expectations… A Lost Cause.

So the thing I read somewhere about the diamond mining npcs protecting you from diamond rats (from FOBs) when you have perfect standings with them are not true ? Saves me running mining missions for them, lol.
