Last I checked, the “ingame rules” are enforced by concord. If there were no rules prohibiting said action, you would not be attacked by said law enforcement.
As I very clearly said, the only “real rules” are the EULA. Which I clearly said concordable actions are not a violation of.
While every other MMO starts off with an intro that tells you you’re going to be the savior of the realm, holds your hand, protects you, nurtures your development and ultimately guides you to your destiny as a hero along with several other million players who’ve had the exact same experience, EVE assaults you from the second you begin to play after you create a character, spitting you out into a universe that under the surface, is so complex that it’s enough to make your head explode.
I’m saying CCP knows exactly what needs to happen for a player to have a successful EVE experience. They just aren’t interested in making that happen. They appear more interested in suckering Alphas out of $ and discarding them. CCP doesn’t value or respect the new player, they don’t deserve them.
edit: Goons are an interesting example here. Goons have rock solid control over a small corner of the game territory. Goons are thriving while EVE is dying because they are providing for their rookies what CCP refuses to do. While the devs are letting the rest of the game die.
You forgot the PvP part in “PvP Sandbox”. It’s cool if the game doesn’t float your boat, feel free to leave whatever entitled / misunderstood ramblings you like in your review
At any time you could have used your mind to think around your challenges, instead you gave up and went home. Same old story.
No, still no sense at all. You could as a new player have come to the forums and politely asked for help just as one idea. It’s common for well mannered newbros to recieve all the assistance in the world just for showing a good attitude. You could also all drop corp and share a group chat together if you want to merely learn together, rendering you impossible to wardec and still entirely capable of flying together. Having a corp in EvE is not the same as a guild or party in other games, since you are expected to be willing and able to defend a player made corporation here.
You are recieving flack for this because you jumped to slate something you merely did not understand, not because the community is bad.
Pointing out irony that the OP attempted “joining corps” and got stomped. And some of the advise in the thread is to be an NPC group be a chat channel, i.e. isolating players. Whatever CCP wants to accomplish, doesn’t look like players share the view.

Suicide Ganking is not intended to be profitable[/quote]
I still remember this fondly and it the trouble it caused. Its amusing that when CCP says something agreeable it gets enshrined and polished like a holy relic. They say something else, its heresy and Damnatio Memoriae.
Not 20 questions, just the 3. Your story doesn’t sound right so I wanted clarification is all.
Also, 10 bucks? I guess I would be miffed if I payed real money for an in game item (Astrahus) and then lose it right away for putting it in the wrong place. I wouldn’t condemn the game in an angry STEAM review then rant in a forum for it though. That’s why people who pay for PLEX to get ISK as new players will never pay to win, they will just pay. Part of playing EVE for a long time and actually earning your ISK gives you time to learn more of the rules. Which is why they always say only fly what you can afford to lose.
Maybe you can join an a reasonable alliance and seek protection from the Johnny Vomits.
Also the region of space that is highly populated can make a big difference. Caldari and Federation Space is heavily populated. You should set up your corp in lower trafficked space Amarr or Mimitar
Let me stop you there. Sounds like you weren’t trying very hard. Off the top of my head: EVE Uni, Brave, Pandemic Horde, KarmaFleet. All of these corps are very well known and can be found with a brief Google search. All will tremendously enhance your new player experience.
That said, some people are unwilling to do even the most basic research outside of the game itself. That’s fine, this is a leisure activity and far be it from me to tell you how to spend your time, but if that’s the case, this is not the game for you.
fisrt i would like to congratule you for doing things and moving foward in the game to experiencinf its content. It is better than being affraid to assume the leadership of you fun while logged in! Unfortunatly for you there is traps in EVE behind every trees and nobody will ever told you that. New player experience suckc and the ingame help is not available same for the official ressources on the web.
So, to conter all those trap, in addition to learning the complex ingame machanic the hard way after playing many long hours, you will also have to do research for as many hours, in communitiy online ressources. Learning in EVE has a cost, an expensive one in time, asset, friends, progression but mistake and falling into traps are mandatory to appredicate the game to its fullest.
How ever, i would recommand you to keep in mind the Universal EVE moto: " im not having fun unless you are nor having fun" It sums pretty much all the game.
In other words it’s safer for the griefers. If they pulled those stunts on a big alliance out there it would get expensive really fast.
The OP will see the same thing if he moves to that other game and picks a PvE server to be safe - trolls wiping out opposite faction quest hubs for no reason other than making leveling impossible for newbies trying to get through there. And if some newbie proves to be a veteran, logging a powerful character to clear out the troll, he can just set PvP off and wait five minutes. The very mechanics protecting peaceful players can also make griefing safer, who would have thought of that?
The sooner one can learn some version of PvP Rule One the better. I hear it’s usually “The fight was fair if I won”. There’s also a Rule Two - “The only thing better than getting a kill is denying the other guy a kill”. So if you can’t win don’t feed them kills, they’ll eventually get bored and go somewhere else. Many small corps seem perfectly able to cope, when I look them up and check war reports with 0 kills on both sides.
