A significant update to Industry

Translation: “You got me so I’m going to incorrectly invoke the names of fallacies thus performing a fallacy fallacy. Also, I’m going to be blocked and reported now. I am bad at trolling.

CCP has always added new skills to the game. I don’t understand why introducing new things (with concurrent nuevo skills) is “monetization”.

Why is this a problem?

They used to be limited to frigates. Alpha accounts have expanded quite considerably since their introduction a few years ago.

No, I don’t remember this. But, with the coming changes, newbies will actually be able to do this now.

I mean, there’s more stuff to build now, providing more points of entry. I don’t see how that’s a bad thing.

How is this a cash grab? Literally none of this is purchasable with NEX.

They basically trade Trit for PI. It’s not really that complicated.

But that’s exactly the point I suspect. I get the sense that the intention is that the new player can mine something, harvest something or find something and actually have what they have produced be of value to another play rather than every play semi-serious about industry be able to do it all on their own and not need the newbro’s materials. I think it becomes about finding you niche and producing part of the supply chain rather than expecting to be able to do it all yourself. Sure… big alliance might have an edge but even in a big alliance, most players won’t choose to mine for free or harvest gas for free… they will expect payment from someone else in their alliance for what they have produced,

they are going to implement a “once every 6 hours” pulse in highly developed systems that decloaks everything.

My sister has a friend, who knows a guy, who works with a girl who used to date the janitor at CCP, and she said they overhead the devs talking. Bank on it.

Nope, with veldspar being as valuable as cow manure people will now travel to low sec in the bleak hope of profits mining more valuable ore.

They won’t remove local because then that backs Black Ops ships redundant. And if they were to make BLack Ops ships immune to the new tool, that would just mean that everyone sits AFK in a black ops ship.

What I’m expecting/hoping for is that the “tool” will allow you to find plays that are AFK cloaked but not those who are active and cloaked. Or if not find the player, let you know that the cloaked player is AFK and so doesn’t need to be worried about. As a play style, sneaking into the system in something like a cloaky Stratios and trying to catch people unaware should still be a thing… what shouldn’t be a thing is parking that Stratios before you go to work, leaving the game client running while you are out the house at work and then coming back later to see if there is anyone on D-SCAN to catch.

Are we going to ignore that 14 added new material required to build capitals parts? Or the new stuff required to build Capitals? Like why? This is going to make a few bigger groups hold so much power while they already hold too much. “Everyone stocked the f up on capitals lets increase the difficulty to make one tenfold” Great idea. A Rorqual change and a couple of years too late.

Except that trading Trit for P4s… yeah, that’s a fair bit of added effort for no gain.

The gain is a slow in capital proliferation.

Cool beans. A decade late, but whatever.

Still…

Good enough for the PA/CCP apologists to gather into a worship circle and hit the forums en masse in a show of corporate support.

How would i not end bad? Decrese income->Decrease income->Decrease income->Increase mineral prices->Increase material need-> Leads to? People wont use their ships because of the pricetag it comes with.

And…? I fail to see how that concerns me. I don’t care for Drakes or battleships.
My post said " I don’t do industry" and “I couldn’t care less”. I don’t understand why you quoted me and start talking about ships I’ll never fly.
What’s today? Just-quote-a-random-post day? It’s the second time in 24h that someone quoted my posts and posted something that has nothing to do with them… OH well, this world is getting wierder by the day.

You will understand how its relevant when you have no one to play with or against.

Wait what ? Is that a threat?

What? No.
Its a promise.

People can only tolerate so much. When it becomes a chore to play and it takes too much time to get even something as simple as a Battleship then players will look for something else to play. For the last 2 years CCP had done nothing but make this a reality. ESS/DBS/Mining/Material cost these are just the most recent ones, not including all of them. Everything they done increased the required time to acquire ships/modules/goods. While they try to promote an agressive paly style they act against it by creating an environment where you dont want to engage because you know exactly how much time it takes to replace what you are about to lose. Golden rules or not. Not everyone here is a machine that plays 12 hours a day. And if you alienate “casual” palyers because they simply cant maintain the gamestyle they used to then you will have a bleak game which wont last long.

At that point you can be the richest person in eve who doesnt have to spend any time ratting. But who are you going to play with and for how long? This game should not be 90% getting the money and 10% using what you got it for. And thats a generous percentage.

OH! Okay then. I thought you were saying you’d somehow get me banned or something distasteful like that.
So you’re saying that ships will end up costing too much time and Isk to replace and players will start looking elsewhere for engaging play and fun… I see… Well, I still couldn’t care less. CCP isn’t my company and I can survive without EVE. It’ll be tough but I’m sure I’d make it through.

It is a problem because CCP only nerfed the rewards and not the risks! CCP and the players always say Risk Vs Reward. This game has turned into all Risk with little to no Reward. Moon mining was added and the Bloodraider FoB got added as the increased risk for the increased reward of the moons. CCP nerfed Moons to death but did not nerf the risk of FoBs. I don’t think CCP could balance anything even if they used a scale. If CCP nerfs the reward they need to nerf the risk, period.
