A significant update to Industry

Called it. CCP isn’t interested in actually answering anything that isn’t a softball question.

loud and clear. join a mega alliance if you want to be an effective industrialist.

t1 production is tedious enough without forcing pi on people.

This adds another layer of bull$hit hoops to jump through for no other purpose than to add tedium to an already arduous process.

It is not new or innovative. They expanded the amount of bull$hit caps require and added bull$hit to subcaps.

Profit margins are already so tight people without an internal supply line already operate at a loss without adding nonsense to the process.

Getting my trit for *free from hauler spawns in npc null still has my production cost for a t1 bs using a maxed bp coming in just above market value once you account for jumping that trit somewhere useful. Completely ignoring the value of your time. Time you could’ve spent doing anything else. Whats your time worth?

Luckily the new ship industry allows you to choose exactly how much complexity you can handle. Don’t want to do PI for your ships? Stick with the ships that don’t require PI.

It takes a special kind of team to paralyze their game for a month or more… and then ‘explain’ by releasing spreadsheets instead of presenting a well developed plan/vision online to players. But that would take effort and basic, fundamental leadership to accomplish.

It’s like they were 1/4 through conception when Hilmar said, ‘Hey, Fjordisborg, take those random notes you have in that column and throw a quick spreadsheet together, then upload it so players can download it…’

i heard them shrug off the ice question. lets be real clear, doubling and tripling up belts in remote systems isnt the answer. ice systems should have ice. period. our ice system has had 2 belts in 9 weeks. this is just wrong. especially given the increasing need for fuel blocks.

Can we finally get sex in EVE?

LIke if two capsuleers marry and have children, that child becomes a new pilot? Maybe with 1 month free sub, and we can then give that account to a friend who can start playing?

This removes choices. It’s adds nothing beyond extra burden.

Please explain how the different tiers of complexity do not allow you to choose the complexity of your industry?

I mean, you’re free to choose what ships you make, right?

so when will CCP make it so that we can substitute PLEX for materials when we make ships so that it’s truly pay to win

they dont need to. they are already satisfied with the increased number of market transactions that will feed the isk sink. and the injectors for people to skill into the new paths.

The Silent Majority is happy CCP, thank you.

Always have been, less so after this. It’s more burdensome to do the exact same thing we’ve always done under the new system. More than that, something I could make today I will NOT be able to make once this change goes live. That is, by definition, restrictive.

For the record I only print faction ships(for me to fly). I buy t1s because its cheaper to buy them from an established builder than it is to import the mins.

You can already do that, kindof, selling plex for isk then buying what you’re missing accomplishes this goal. Direct plex substitution for missing materials feels like a cell phone game tactic though. I dont think its as bad as say Golden bullets, but its pretty fûcking bad.

From the CSM Discord:

So. A CSM is saying ‘we designed’. @ccp_swift @CCP_Convict does this mean the new industry system is being designed by a member of Pandemic Legion, who openly admits they do not have a strong history of industrial activity, rather than CCP’s developers actually doing this work?

Suddenly the pieces fit.

Listening to advice from an inexperienced industrialist null sec scale guy. So basically someone that mostly brute force and throw “infinite ISK” at problems. Somehow this does not sound like a guy that will understand the perspectives of little guys, medium guys, or even hisec guys (that produce a rather big chunk of everything in the game?)

Who else they have to listen? Most of CSM is part of null

Well in this case maybe talk to the Imperium null sec that is notorious for completely weaponizing everything in the industry mechanics to a point where the game needed a complete ecosystem overhaul. Or engage outside the CSM with players that actually do different scales of industry. Kenneth clearly is not the best representative for the future of EVE industry.

This is really bad faith and uncharitable. You should stick to the merits of the redesign itself in the context of the stated aims, not throw turds at the changes because your personal feelings regarding one of the members of the team.
