Apolgies if this isn’t the right place for this (first ever post), but looks like there is a bug in the compression of Brimful Sylvite. Say’s it compressed but Compressed Brimful Sylvite has the same volume after compression than before. I guess its because the volume attribute is set to 10m3 on both the normal and compressed versions.
In case anyone has forgotten, i have not, this is still ■■■■. It was ■■■■ when they first thought it up and anyone that had a chance to veto it and didn’t is also ■■■■.
Actually it was one of the best changes CCP did.
definitely the best update they have done in years
I am looking in market for gas price and even with compression it do not drop, like I was expecting.
- Gas seller can more easy transport gas with compression, but will lose more ISK by doing this. Reason? Indie guys, who want to buy gas, will not buy compressed gas for a price of raw gas, because when we Decompress Gas we lose units. (and with current price for gas it can be from 30k-90k per 1 gas unit.)
- Still not enough Gas spawns, with concentrated regions for particular gas type the amount we can get for industry is still very limited, Myko’s and Cyto’s both actually.
- Witch lead to Insane price for Faction ships, look at stratius price or Machariel - that is insance and won’t drop soon, all because of Gas. And I even did not counted here Capital ships.
We should prob. wait a month or two after this gas compress update to actually start shake market, but I have a feeling that this won’t change much, see point nr. 2.
My “5.cents” here.
your five cents are worth 0. it has been a few weeks since the update went in. The market will take time to respond.

Gas sellers will not lose money to compression. Or is made more valuable than the sum of its repro value because of the benefits of compressed ore. What a ridiculous statement.
-
There is nothing to support your assertion there is inadequate spawns.

It has been a few weeks. Gas compression has not had time to change the faction ship market much yet. Faction ships ARE supposed to be expensive however.
Someone forgot to change accounts…
Its been a year since faction sub production was made an exclusively developed industry process. A whole year of only industrial powerhouses making moves in this market. Lossy gas compression was never going to be the answer. Putting it back like it was would though.
The Faction capitol costs need to be looked at… How does it make sense for the Serpentis ones to be so much more expensive than all of the others (including other pirate caps) by a literal order of magnitude? The vehement takes more armor plates than super carriers…than even non-faction titans, yet it is nowhere near as large as either of those!
Seems kind of odd to have the serpentis ones cost well over 10x of it’s gurista or blood raider counterpart, where was the stats are generally near each other…plus no mandatory exploration loot (guri and blood) in the same way that serpentis are.
a metric or imperial one ?
you havent been paying attention if you think anyone is producing faction ships in large numbers and not LP farming them.
Perhaps, or go back and read a few posts. You’ll notice ive mentioned that several times. Lp farmers doing their thing is the only reason the prices are as low as they are. Its broken, and thats just the best avenue players have found to deal with how ■■■■■■ it is.
- Now then, example: Staber Navy Issue - try build the ship and sell With profit in Jita market.
- Check T3 Cruiser Price and ship’s actual value of possible things they can do. EHP/DPS/Coverop/Logie… and compare with Cynabal, as example, price vise.
maybe my 5. cents are indeed not worth, but I did said:
“We should prob. wait a month or two after this gas compress update to actually start shake market”…Guess this my statement you ignored completely.
“Dear god that’s dumb. CCP Pleaseee” - Guy on reddit when discussing the need for materials sourced from pi gas and goo refined in low/null refineries for faction subs. Specifically empire faction, but im gonna go out on a limb and apply it to all faction.
Couldn’t agree more. It’s about as dumb as it gets, besides selling fit ships or sp from thin air for cash.
Look they’ve decided to reduce the ■■■■■■■■ components required for faction subs and t1 bs. Its still garbage because its still gated behind owning moons to mine, owning low/null refineries to do the reactions in, doing brain cancer pi, and huffing gas… less garbage to be sure, but still only benefits those with the infrastructure. The rest of us are still boned. Ccplease.
Bookmarked this post.
I would like your opinion on PI+ after fan-fest if it pleasing for you to give it.
I’ll be glad to give my assessment. I dont have high expectations, but recent events have given me a small amount of hope. Namely the unfuckening of the proteus and this most recent change to industry. Not that its good, its still terrible and completely unacceptable, but its better than it has been since they deep dicked it in the first place.
■■■■ change is still ■■■■. I know everyone is mad about the price hike, but this is still a problem. Even if they backpeddle on that, which i do not expect.
The whole point is to force interaction between the players and ecosystem.
With before it was so simple and easy for literally anyone to build the biggest most badass ships in the game and to do it quickly.
With the indy changes brings in a new level to encourage people to find new sources of materials and to consider opening up new connections to people who can supply said materials.
That said, it is good they have decided to reduce the needed mats as the previous iteration was god awful and severely hurt indy.
I agree, but that’s a ludicrous point for them to push. I can’t imagine not using the already built in controls, namely bpc availability, to dial in the true cost of these ships. They’d rather re-invent a worse wheel that only rolls for those already established in t2 production.
It is, but it isn’t good enough. We’ve still lost functionality. It’s still gated behind tedious ass pi, gas mining, moon mining and ownership, null/low refinery ownership and until it isn’t it’s utter ■■■■.
It continues to do so, and will more as less and less players haul in the raw mats.
They “reinvented” indy for battleships/caps to separate them. I dont necessarily agree with separation of bs from t1 ships, but I am 100% for the indy changes to caps.
It is gated behind gas and basically gas only. PI while tedious is available literally anywhere and can be done in mass abundance. There is no gate holding back moon mining/ownership or refinery ownership. Gas is the only component that is not readily available in mass quantity.
As people quit mining, prices will go up. As prices go up, people will go back to mining. The cycle will repeat. This is basic economics.
