A simple fix for high-sec suicide ganking

What are all these benefits?

CCP already targets suicide ganks by linking drop rates in hisec to security status, or targeted shadowbans of players (likely the former). Whatever they do to it lowers the drop rate to at least 30% if not lower, but its only of valuable items.

Also, 1 AG looter can shut down an infinite amount of gankers anywhere, at any time. There are many many bots that do this, for 12 years+, without a ban (I reported). If you want a ganking nerf us gankers want a buff to come with it. I suggest a max of 5 accounts omega open at once in exchange for it takes 60 seconds befoer anyone not in the fleet with the gankers that killed the ship can interact with the wreck in any way.

You can’t. that breaks TOS.

not really…
Deleting characters to avoid negative sec status effects is against ToS…or at least CCP policy.

Just not logging into an Alpha account and creating a whole new one, maybe even with a different email address is not.

" I know people who have left the game and never come back after getting their freighter full of stuff ganked in one of the many high sec areas where this is frequent."

think of how many people are playing Eve BECAUSE THIS IS POSSIBLE

because this is part of what makes eve great, the risk and reward, crime and punishment, the randomness, shock and horror.
take all this away, what do we have a left, a pve game with proving grounds for pvp “content”… honestly, this is where it is heading.

Exactly. I freaking love the adrenaline rush of creeping through bottleneck systems - nice jolt to wake me up and keep me on my toes during an otherwise boring task.

And sometimes it is just a good source of comic relief. Like the other day, when I was churning distro missions in a 11m-total-fit industrial to get storyline missions for standings for an epic arc, I had a guy doing a very poor job of attempting to gank (seriously, who doesn’t fit passive targeting modules for sneaky cargo scanning?!) - I laughed myself silly when he kept following me around from gate to gate, trying to lock me long enough to scan my industrial and see if I was worth ganking. Dude couldn’t even manage to lock me before I aligned and warped. I think he tracked me through three systems before finally giving up.

not anymore… they’ve confirmed that with alphas you can do that.
@Max_Deveron

By itself, creating/recreating (with the same name) numerous characters frequently is not a violation of any policy.

I did specifically ask about “for the purpose of recovering security status” or “any other reason” and that was fine - Just make sure you aren’t using these characters for rule-breaking purposes such as rookie griefing. and don’t multibox Alphas or use third party software to run multiple clients simultaneously since that would also be violating the rules. (You can also create as many Alpha accounts as you want - that is acceptable.)

Using your own referral link is fine (eg. for creating Alpha ganking accounts

@Archer_en_Tilavine got the confirmation from a GM

ok im having a discussion with GM’s now…and yes it appears that what i said is true, right now I have phrased my line of questioning to get a no/yes answer on the subject…

I shall do a copy pasta when my discussion is done, especially if i what i have surmised is in fact true with what i said, and if I am correct…then you owe me an apology @Geo_Eclipse_Oksaras

And if you are incorrect?

then i shall admit so. and still copy pasta.

Why would Geo owe you an apology? He simply related information another player received from the GMs - if your support ticket receives a conflicting answer, that is not Geo’s fault. It would be the fault of the GMs for giving inconsistent responses to different players making the same support ticket queries.

Edit: If they come back with an answer different from the one @Archer_en_Tilavine received, you should ask Archer for his ticket number and provide that in your correspondence to ask why players are receiving conflicting answers - as that rather undermines the whole ‘ask a GM how the rules are interpreted so you can operate safely’ process.
