A Way to Keep Players Involved

This forum sounds for more like a kindergarden :innocent:

You seen the fancy words posters nonchalantly throw about? No, It’s more like high school with a Special Aid side building.

A few more daily opportunities for “logged in and undocked” for x amount of time for additional skill points would be great. ie: 5,000sp for 1 hour and 10,000sp for 2 hours.

To reward people for sitting cloaked or in a newbfrig on a safespot somewhere afk in highsec? Come on…

CCP already has an easy way to reward being active in the game if they really wanted: They have an “activity tracker” already implemented and running, just give out SP for the different level achievements and some unique skin and/or related boosters/implants when reaching Level V in a certain activity.

I never indicated cloaked (and it would be easy enough to exclude). It would be easy enough to assign various tasks during said timeframe, ie: jumping through gates, acceleration gates, accepting missions, etc.

Someone will correct me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t it the case that gambling in EVE was removed because of difficulties of a legal nature?

Gambling is not a legal activity in all parts of the world where EVE is played, and even where it is so, there are usually age-limit and/or other restrictions. Perhaps CCP just didn’t want the bother of it all. There may also have been RMT issues, but my memory is patchy about that.

Pretty sure I’ve seen you beating the “Everything is PVP in EVE” drum.

There are plenty of pvp try hard corporations out there. Eventually one of them will have you.
First step would be to stop posting on Eve forums, join their Discord servers and have a chat. Forget about other players and ask yourself what you can do for your person to have fun !

Did you figure that out all on your own? Or did you need help, Captain Obvious?

So his market alt is a PVP alt?

Good thing y’all reached an agreement.

There is gambling in EVE, it’s called Hypercores. You’re probably thinking of the old casinos like EoHPoker and Somer Blink etc. Their legality wouldn’t affect EVE since they were all run externally by third parties. AFAIK CCP let those run for years until they dipped too obviously into the RMT side, not due to legalities. Although I wouldn’t be at all surprised if some sort of “we’re concerned about the legality of these sites” statement was made at some point. Everybody loves a good excuse.

I’d need to huff glue for a month to get down to your level of discourse. And some random forum NPC is not what’s going to lead me down that path.

Nice try.

Your rock is feeling lonely, you should go and crawl back under it.

Thanks for the correction Kezrai.

It’s a thorny issue for CCP, and after reading your reply I’m not at all sure that reintroducing gambling in some form would have the effect the OP imagines. EVE Online itself would only have a tangential connection.

As much as I enjoy EvE,

I do firmly believe that gambling should not be introduced into it. And in fact, I see the hyper-net relay as a form auction-gambling, which if I had it my way, I would immediately remove from the game.

It’s one thing when players scam other players out of their own ingenuity, but CCP acting as a middleman for it. No.
