A Way to Keep Players Involved

Well bro, guess you can include me as well.

I started playing Eve in mid 2008 and the average in-game player count was around 25k to 30k on average. During the course of the next 5 years or so the in-game active player count kept increasing. Then sometime after the ‘Summer Of Rage’ those numbers started going down and ever since then the numbers have continued to go down.

So yeah, there’s definitely a problem. Due to all of the half-baked poorly thought-out changes done to the game in that time, it’s safe to say that CCP is the problem. Especially since they’ve been slowly but steadily changing Eve into an MMO-MT (massively multiplayer online micro transaction) scripted theme park game.

You tell him DUDE!! No kill board what-so-ever! That means you are a big nobody and you don’t even deserve the internet or any online games. Here is my Official Killboard:

You see, I am somebody Mr. Nobody!

While I think some people put overemphasis on the value of killboards, it can tell us interesting things about a player: because people who play EVE inevitably lose (or kill) ships while playing, the killboard tells people about the kind of game activities you engage in and how you do that.

Someone can be a hauler, a miner, a ganker, F1 monkey, wormholer, faction warfare pilot, ishtar ratter, explorer and many other options and combinations. And it’s easy to see when you look at someone’s killboard.

You, for example, appear to have no idea what resistances are. Would you like some fitting advice?

Yes please. I have no idea what resistances are.
How would I use resistances on a Catalyst, Vexor and Thorax?
What modules are used for resistances?
Thank you.

You, Cloe, are likely the umpteenth iteration of a forum posting alt and have no killboard history at all. I don’t know what you wish to use your Catalyst, Vexor or Thorax for.

If you’re looking at a simple shield tank, a Multispectrum Shield Hardener is a good way to make your shield extender much more effective.

For an armor tank a passive Multispectrum Energized Membrane would do a good job, although I often prefer a Damage Control unit. This last module also works for shield tanks, although less strong than the shield hardener I mentioned.

Vexors also work well against NPCs and each region has different NPCs that deal different types of damage. Look into the type of damage that is most common in your region and use specific resistance modules against that type to easily increase your defences! Or stick with the easy multispectrum versions.

Should have just left it at the first paragraph.

p.s. that dude’s fit is just pure chaos: low, mid AND high slots. It just shows what I said earlier that a skill issue on the forums generally overlaps will a skill issue on in game because, really , it’s a RL skill issue which is at the centre of that venn diagram.

If someone has no killboard, it’s reasonable to conclude they don’t play the game.

He doesn’t what the imperials knowing he is part of the resistance, its part of the roll play.

Thank you.

I think the point is more that the very nature of the things these people whine about means they ought to have some indication of having lost something, otherwise what on earth are they whining about.

No. I have no clue what you are talking about, nor do I care. This forum is a joke. Do you know how many times I have seen this thread over and over? Can you calculate how many players keep jumping on each other for making statements or opinions to other players. For example; look at your reply to ME and how many jumped down your throat on a comment directed at ME.

Talcumpowder up there jumped on his magic unicorn, rode the rainbow into this forum, saying how nice it would be to be nice to others, and 30 plus villagers grab pitchforks and torches. “Burn the WITCH!!”.

@Talic up there seems to have stopped monitoring this thread back on post 57 (now up to 171), so now it is just the villagers poking each other with their pitchforks. I find this redundant act very amusing.

To be honest and clear, I only visit Eve Online for less than a week, once a month to collect my ISK, and reinvest it back into the market. Maybe someday I will spend it on Plex and be an Omega player for a year. As for your comment about resistors or balloons, I guess you mean the battleship in the WH back in January? Yes, that was used to just clear rats, so my indentured servants can mine, not designed for fighting players. It served its purpose.

By all means, please continue the entertaining conversation. I can wait to see the commentary on this post.

The battleship was what caught my attention, but using plates, expanders and repairers without resistances seemed to be a common theme in your fits, which is why I wondered if you wanted some fitting advice. This is not ‘PvP advice’; knowing how to fit well also will help you fight rats much better.

Anyway, it looks like you have the forums and the game all figured out: everyone is at each other’s throats and resistances are overrated. Hope you have fun!

Did you check the fitted turrets?

And rightly so too. A person cannot come on and brag that they have ISK coffers overflowing, more ships than they know what to do with, and maximum skills points…and then in the same breath say they are bored. What they really mean is they are a carebear too scared to go out and risk any of that after already losing 11 ships and 2.7 billion ISK, all for no gain.

And that gets converted into Eve being ‘boring’.

That is why I did the posting of Aiko’s killboard, there is no solid proof anyone owns anything. When any 12 year old can pop in to make stuff up, I tend to lean heavy on the old saying,

Truth does not become more true by virtue of the fact that the entire world agrees with it, nor less so even if the whole world disagrees with it. Do not consider it proof just because it is written in books, for a liar who will deceive with his tongue will not hesitate to do the same with his pen.

I am sure, there are honest people here, but I know I am not one to be trusted.
