High sec haulers,
I’d like to propose a new ganking deterrent: a low-slot module that, when fitted, reduces the chance of cargo and modules dropping to 0% if your ship is destroyed.

Funny.
In Albion online, a similar full loot free for all PVP game, they implemented a rule to specifically counter this strategy to keep the ‘full loot PvP’ part of the game intact.
Any items you destroy on your person can still for a short while be looted from your corpse if you die, so you cannot quickly destroy your own loot to spite your killers.
What you suggest is the opposite, something that goes against the full loot PvP nature of this game. I do not think it is a good idea.
If you do not wish your hauler to drop loot to gankers, try not to get caught.
Its a module that increases player agency and destruction if gankers ‘teach a lesson’ to any user.
I got a name for that module already, in case CCP love the idea: God Mode Equalizer
Sounds good to me. If you are a hauler, you paid the collateral, so whatever you’re hauling for me is insured. I lose nothing. The gankers were going to lose their ships either way, whether the gank was successful or not. While you, on the other hand, lose not only your hauler, but also every item in cargo, every module, every rig, and the collateral. So, the ony person who loses……is you.
You people don’t seem to realize that gankers will nuke you just because its Tuesday. Doesn’t matter if it’s profitable or not….
The module isn’t just for hauling—on any ship it ensures loot is destroyed if attacked and killed. This may be of value to someone who is venturing outside of high sec. There is a peace of mind that comes with dying and knowing the attacker didnt get any of your loot. For example if you are farming relic and data sites, those ships seems to have low slots to spare for this kind of thing. Peace.
You could simply prevent the gankers from ganking you by playing competently, instead.
I’d like to propose a new ganking deterrent: a brain. Use it and you don’t get ganked.
If you sacrifice a low slot for this module rather than tank or alignment speed, you deserve to lose your ship….
Align and tank is not going to save your ship. For example 1.99s align can get caught. And tank just means you die slower. Peace
So instead install this module in a low slot and go for the guaranteed loss. Genius. Pure genius…
What module can you fit instead that would have a larger impact on ganks etc. than this module?
There is no reason this module cant be used competently.
Example: Cheetah has 4 low slots. That ship suddenly become ever so slightly more interesting for exploration because of this new module. Few
The one that exists between your chair and keyboard….
Still waiting for you to name a low-slot module that keeps you from being attacked or killed.
There isn’t a module in the entire game that can do that, no matter what slot. It’s called using your head. I’ve been ganked exactly twice. Two times in 20 years. And both times it was 100% my fault. That’s how much of a non-issue it is…
Warp core stabilizer, inertial stabilizer, damage control.
Those are the good low slot modules a hauler can fit. Each of them adds to your survival in some way more than the module you’ve come up with.
Nah. Just be a smarter player and you won’t get ganked, that’s all.
@Gerard_Amatin You’ve listed three modules with survivability impact. What about the fourth slot? What about a module that destroys all your cargo and fittings on death?
