Continuously? Yes, yes I do. If you want to “play” the game then ofc you need to be attentive. Otherwise, all you are doing is “activating the client and pressing a few buttons” - more or less the same kind/level of interaction as a botter which is not really on. If you want something like that I’m sure there are plenty of mobile “games” that would appeal to you more.
So you expect us to believe you spent a long time on skills (a Rorq is what - 6 months for the basic ‘get in and undock’ without drones or getting the skills ‘worthwhile’) then a great deal of isk on something you used for 15 minutes before abandoning? Twice?
Assuming you’re not full of bullsh1t (lol…) that would show a huge inability to think or plan or even try. You have no idea what you are talking about - whether bullsh1t or not - which is why you neither understand the points nor have anything to contribute to this.
The ENTIRE GAME is not only geared towards, but based upon, the destruction, replacement and continued destruction of not only ships but everything in the entire game. It is 100% designed around you blowing up in many different ways and without that there would BE no game. For anyone.
What a wonderfully stupid thing to say. How do they? How is “easier ganking” promoted? Honestly - how? It is just another stupid thing said by people who have no idea at all about anything and just like to shout things they don’t understand in order to somehow involve themselves in “playing the victim”.
No I didn’t. What I saw was a minority of players b1tching on the forums etc like they were being paid for it as a full-time job. I also saw the online numbers go down a negligible amount during it and then afterwards, far from “half the players quit” I saw higher numbers playing than before. Don’t believe me? Fine - go look at the figures yourself. There are more and more playing.
See the abbyss in the middle? That was the blackout, and I´d say that the player decrease was far more than “Negligible”, even if not so serious than “Half of the players”
If this period of shortage with no basic ores on moons, 12.000 m3 veldspar rocks, and no way of reliably getting an abundance of tritanium in null lasts for long, you can expect a similar abbyss in the next weeks.
But well, blackout showed us than when the bold/stupid changes hits the stock value, they are reverted as if never existed.
Yes. In the middle. Then you have the “afterwards” as well as the “than before”. So… yeah. Not sure of your point or even if you really read what I said.
Other than maybe a few regions afk mining carries a heavy risk of loss, and it does provide content for roamers.
I get the whole massive bot army bad mentality…but the low brow approach to nerfing it for all,and supporting it imo will have a worse overall impact to the game.
I mean I’m all for making ore expensive, have fun paying more for that pvp ship for a roam across systems where there won’t be an afk orca to pop just a bunch of docked krabbers.
Is never lose a ship ratting if I didn’t occasionally step away or be watching something while on field…pvp fleet losses aside.
Take your head out of your but. Not everyone likes to play the game the way you do. I used to pay to play semi-AFK.
I semi-AFK mined in nullsec while at work because my work is ■■■■■■■ boring. 15 bucks per month was cheap to make my RL work seem less boring. And I’m also quite busy in RL so I don’t have much time to play actively. In rare occaisons when I had time to play actively I’d try to learn to PVP with the ISK I made while mining.
I wouldn’t mind if amount of ores was reduced by making number of rocks 90% smaller, but the size of the rocks would stay the same. But with ridicolous size of rocks it’s now impossible to continue mining while at work because my barge kills rocks way too fast and has to be moved way too often. Eventhough my work is boring it still has to be done and I can’t do it if I have to move the barge every few minutes.
So for me the changes killed the purpose of playing. On the other hand I doubt they’ll influence botters. I bet their bots know how to move automatically to another rock.
Anyway I cancelled my subscription because of the rock size changes. As I said 15 bucks to make my work less boring was more than worth it. To play actively about 2 hours every other weekend when I may have some time it’s not. I can as well be alpha for those few hours a month. And alpha venture will at least kill those small rocks in long enough time for mining to be bearable while I’m at work.
I wouldn’t say it was wasted. I made about 3 times more ISK to spend and omega has other benefits as well. But most of them aren’t worth it when one doesn’t have time to play much actively.
Noone said anything about being glad I’m unsubscribing. I don’t know where you got that idea from. And no I don’t get it why would someone hate me for mining while at work except if he was just jealous because he can’t do it as well. I certainly don’t see how I could spoil anything ingame for anyone by doing it.
I don’t think I’m whining I just wanted to explain how someone would be stupid enough to pay to play AFK because I was stupid enough.
I know many people hate krabs but noone ever explains why. Maybe because krabs aren’t as cool as them or what? Most of them are probably some narrow minded idiots that have nothing to do with their lives but to live for an online game 24/7. As EVE player base seems pretty old a lot of us have RL responsibilities that don’t make it possible for us to play the game the way they do. And than those same people whine all the time about EVE dying, losing player base, lack of content and so on. Are they really that stupid they think chasing away players that don’t seem cool to them and causing lower online numbers will increase player base and content?
And I’m NOT lying. I cancelled my subscription but my status is still omega until my last 30 days of subscription run out.
Actually, its probably due to krabs whining about being shot at or not getting enough ticks that are high value, and why the game shouldnt require them to adapt like every other playstyle does.
Hate the rock sizes too but was able to read the dev posts on the 5 part ore changes and able to read the whole shortage phase. Hopefully reasonable rocks return to null soon.
I’m more worried about the seemingly combative approach to mining as a whole by community and developer…as something that must be stopped…this worries me more.
Agree with many posters, the appeal to eve and my two accounts is that I can passively play between pvp fleets, actively ratting, and enjoy mining and chilling while doing other things irl.
Change that and I might as well pay for a game with good active combat and pvp.
