Abyssal filaments - cruiser too slow

Hey, wonder if someone can help I’m trying to run abyssal filaments, however im having issues trying to get all the loot. Im running a vexor and it’s simply too slow to make it to both sub nodes and the cache within the 6.5 minute window. I’ve had a look at other cruisers and they all seem to have a similar speed predictably. I’ve tried fitting a microwarp drive however it drains the caps too quick and i think overall ends up being slower.

Am i missing something here, cause im not sure how any cruiser can make it to all 3 caches in time unless they have the cap to run a microwarp drive for the duration. I’ve included my fit, i know the armour plates reduce my velocity but even without it its only another 38m/s which is something but i dont think solves my issue.

An MTU can help. Perhaps a Web for fast and agile frigs and drones. And at least some meta modules to save some cap or power/CPU.

I would watch some Aceface on YouTube. The man is a medical professional, I don’t know how he manages to do so many videos and work in a hospital too. However he seems very dedicated to running abyssals in Eve.

I assume you are doing tier 2 and tier 3 abyssal? I don’t think tech 1 modules are going to cut it. I run my fighters pilot with destroyer on tier 0 with tech 1 and my friend runs a frigate build in tier 0.

@Pierre_de_Bricassart are MTU’s allowed inside abyssal space? I know you can’t deploy a mobile depot.

Fly safe o7

Looked up the MTU will give that a go, seems that might be the solution.

I’ll have a look at aceface. Also found this from the abyssal lurkers channel in game. Has a bunch of info for abyssals.

Just tier 1s, i’ve no problems clearing the enemies with tech 1, just too slow to get to the 3 loot crates in time. Going to give that MTU a go see if that solves the issue.

and also nobody goes for the loot in the nodes, it is crap, except in T6 abyssals
so just focus on the cache

Run a Gila, if possible. I have ran level three’s and been able to scoop the loot. If scooping gets to close to the timer, I head to the next zone.

Also be aware of targets close to loot spots. Attack the damaged ships, cruiser to bs first with drones, the Gila gets a nice bonus to drones. Attack frigates with missiles and they are taken out easily. When a single sub-cap goes down, switch drones to the nearest cruiser. When the drones and missiles have taken out the cruisers and before concentrate on the remaining sub-caps. Looting is important but not salvaging the wreck. The key is positioning your ship in such a manner to lure the NPC ships away to create a pyramid out of the NPCS and your ship, so that all legs of the pyramid are relative to being picked up. First the furthest one away from the gate and then closest or take out the cruisers first and then cap ships and finally the frigates while approaching the furthest loot and the closest. All the while taking the drones one by one.
