Good on you Diana for that clarity, even though I caught myself laughing at the concept of you needing to defend the Empire against “bullying”.
What we really need to do is defend this thread from failing to get another 18 posts.
So, anyone with fresh ideas on how to make the Republic chill out?
It is actually quite easy concept to understand. Lets just look at the situation from above, not really taking any point of view, neither Amarr, nor Minmatar. Also lets take into account only present time.
Attacking Empire because of slavery is bullying, because legal slavery in the Empire is Amarr and Amarr issue only. Good it or bad - it’s not for us to decide, because neither of us use it. For us - it may be wrong, but for them it isn’t. They use slavery to solve their internal problems. We may imprison criminals, they enslave them. I bet some people might call us savages for locking our criminals in cells. Tell me, what would you say if, for example, Gallente (who are also known to be bullies) will just go war on you with their typical democratic zeal, yelling that you are not allowed to imprison anyone and that “everyone must be freed”?
What Minmatars are doing to the Empire is about same what ancestors of Amarr were doing to Minmatars 900 years ago when they came with their ships and started killing, enslaving people just because they didn’t believe in the God. Would you like the Empire to start acting like their ancestors and send all their ships to kill and enslave your people, demanding you to believe in their God, like you demand them to drop slavery?
There is a good rule that I myself try to follow: treat others like you want them to treat you.
And even more, I often turn this formula upside down, for example, threatening gallente to bomb Gallente Prime because they bombed Caldari Prime, or drop Titan on their homeworld, because they dropped on ours… at least for them to try to start understanding how ■■■■■■ up they are.
Ice bucket?
The key points here, and something that you seem to really struggle to understand Diana, is “legal” slavery “within” the Empire. The second a non-slave from outside the Empire becomes a slave, it is fundamentally not just “an Amarr issue”.
Now before I go any further, let’s just clarify something once and for all.
Yes, I, we, and everybody else, knows that the Amarr aren’t supposed to take slaves from outside the Empire. However, this doesn’t mean ■■■■ in reality because they absolutely do still take slaves from outside the Empire. This is a provable fact.
So sure, internal slavery is an Amarr issue. Slavery as a societal fact in the cluster very much isn’t.
Luckily, unlike you, I do understand this issue perfectly well. It’s the same situation as a member of one faction imprisoned for committing crime in the territory of other faction according to their laws. Each such case shall be studied separately, and for now I don’t see ANY case except of your barking. Was it about you, then? You were naughty and the Empire wants your hide for whatever you have committed? Well, sucks to be you, then.
From a nation that WENT WAR on them? That’s in their law. And it wasn’t the Empire who started the war.
I never saw any Amarr taking slaves from the State. Can you prove the Empire takes slaves from nations they aren’t at war with?
If yes - then do that.
If no - stop bothering me with your nonsence.
A big game of paper, rock, scissors.
Best of 5 trillion.
The capture, imprisonment, and slavery of an innocent civilian is the same as the imprisonment of a criminal?
What the ■■■■ is wrong with you?
No, what the ■■■■ is wrong with you, since I never said any word about innocence, so stop polluting forums with your hallucinations. If you can’t hold them - check to the closest medbay of the closest station.
Lets see…
Believe we already covered emancipation (note: I am not referring to a massive deportation to the Republic, I simply refer to, as your late empress stated “the time of slavery is nearing its end” thus I would imagine my kin within the empire being granted citizenship and the ability to freely travel, ect)
Reparations (already covered, I think it was no solid decisions though I oppposed them)
How about Subsidies for our infrastructure to help build what was lost? I fully support any proposed oversight on the part of the Empire to ensure we dont have another elder fleet type situation. This would not be considered a reparation but simply an act of good will. On our part we would offer reduced, yet competitive tarrifs. I would imagine equal or possibly slightly lower than the State’s current tarrifs as to not completely undermine the Empire’s current ally.
Thoughts?
Actually, if you want the group that started the war… that’d be CONCORD. Which means all four empires signed off on it. That’s right, Diana, just like the Amarr agreed to let the Gallente attack Kedama and Rakapas, the State agreed that it’s perfectly legal for the Republic to attack Huola and Kourmonen.
So did the Amarr.
So… yes. It was the Empire that started the war. It was all four of them. Simultaneously. That’s why it was established by CONCORD.
And yet, we’ve established that it is indeed innocents who are being taken as slaves. Innocent civilians, outside the Warzones, who have never done anything that places them within the Amarr Empire’s jurisdiction. You, in fact, have accepted Deitra’s confirmation of this. That is not hallucination. Or are you having memory problems?
A meeting between Empress Catiz and Maleatu Shakor. Large amounts of wine.
I think the idea of mutual economic benefits would be an excellent path towards peace, and hopefully, an eventual reconciliation between out peoples.
What do you think of the idea of joint economic development?
When I point out things like ‘that already happened, and Empress Kittens seems to enjoy Shak-Daddy’s visits’, the Amarr get real touchy for some reason.
To be fair, if I’m not mistaken she did not claim innocence, only stating that she was not witness to such things thus she could not for certain speak up to whether they are factual or not. Please correct me if I’m wrong on that.
I would by and large support such a venture, daring to even propose research colaboration further down the line for nonmilitary application technologies. Obviously that would hinge upon the success of such a joint economic growth initiative.
But she did accept your confirmation as valid, which is what I was referring to.
Ahh, yes. My bad.
I still say we could just end the cluster in a massive fireball… we would have peace then.
