What is “not real” about Call Of Duty?
Is the controller not real?
Is the video monitor not real?
Are the pixels on the monitor not real?
Is the electricity running the machine not real?
Is the machine “language” that defines the game not real?
Are the other players “not real”?
Are the “kills” not real?
Is the call not real? What about the duty?
Are the images that you are induced to see by the game’s out put not real? (Is it all in your head?)
Are you real?
Is this conversation real? What about a conversation you have in game? Real?
Why do you pay real money for something that is not real?
Does the time you spend playing actually pass or is that not real time?k
Do you make a real effort to win or is your effort “not real”?
When you are playing the game, do you cease to be “real”?
Did it take you 90 days to figure out mining? Some players would like to see you ejected from the game for being so inept, but I would’t. I think you should take all the time you need to figure out how to mine and warp out when Trigs attack you, but 90 days is probably way more than the average player needs to figure it out and I’m not sure how denying them the ability to gather material helps them.
Would you care to elaborate? What about mining is so hard for you?
Yes, there is neither a call, nor a duty in COD. It’s just a game, not actual service.
Like the thread, I wish it wasn’t.
Maybe forum threads need to be above an age of consent before you can [expletive deleted] post in them. That might help people trying to have an actual discussion AND you, since it would cut down on your [expletive deleted] posting workload.
If you don’t want to participate in the thread, GTFO. No one invited you here and your participation isn’t mandatory. If you don’t want to talk about this, then go get triggered somewhere else and take your troll brigade with you, please and thank you.

They are. You have to have an account, which requires personal consent if you are old enough, or parental consent if not.
Oneirataxia, it’s a thing.
Take one pencil. Take another one. How many pencils did you take?
You need to redefine “one” or “two” for your phrase to work.
shut it scoots
I wanna know where is the closest jump gate to Earth in reality.
Oh, nevermind, we are probably enslaved by a bunch of capsuleers that decided to drop their production buildings on our heads.
Though, having none capsuleers of our own is depressing.
You do understand that they are simplified, play fictional scenarios and not really realistic, right?
You don’t need that long to figure out PvP either. But from PvP you require perfection, while mining needs only a knowledge of basics.
Besides, the reason was that a lot of people leave the game because they are scarred by the sheer boredom of mining.
PvP needs more options in this game, noobie friendly PvP options should exist in game mechanics. Maybe tiered tournament arenas. The ladder type matches, with premade fits and rankings. Something else than open world PvP that exists already.
Maybe something could be done to enhance duels
There are no such things as “jump gates”. That’s make believe. Why would you think the make believe object “jump gate” would have a real world equivalent? There has never been such a device nor even a rudimentary explanation as to how such a device could even work.
The visual phenomenon you perceive as “jump gate” on your screen is just a pattern of pixelation defined by the game’s code.
You are pretending it is a jump gate. Well, what’s stopping you from pretending the rings of Saturn are a jump gate?
When you push a key on your keyboard, it has an effect within the game. If you do it again, under the same circumstance, it has the same effect, i.e. it works consistently with reality. I make jokes about mashing my keyboard when I get in trouble, but that’s not how you actually play.
To actually play the game, you figure out how to induce an outcome in the game by actions you take within this, “real” reality.
Your computer, you, the server, the rules . . . all of it is in reality. If it were not “in” reality, I don’t think you would be able to access it.
Mickey Mouse exists in a fairy tale reality, hence, you can’t shake his hand.
Games are not fairy tales. There is a real, consistent correlation between actions taken “out of game” and outcome within the game. That is the fundamental difference between fantasy and game.
The fiction is that there are stargates, but interacting with the object you designate as “stargate” has a consistent result, no matter what you call it. That result is not fiction. It’s just not the temporal-spatial phenomenon we are fantasizing it to be. I can pretend a brick falling on my head is a big, red rain drop. But the blood and bruise are still “real”.
I am real. How are you talking to me, a real person, if you are not also real? How do we interact in any way if one of us, both of us, or the medium of our interactions are not “real”?
You have defined “pencil” and “two”.
Pencil is rubber, wood, elemental carbon, paint, and metal. You’re calling that “1 pencil”. Then you are defining another construct, “2”, as “pencil and pencil”. Cool, but these are assertions, arrangements, not “proof”.
And the only reason you know this is because your elementary school teacher told you that is how math works. Did you ever stop and question it? Of course not, but now you want to question what I just said because you don’t like where it seems to be leading you.
We used to think atoms were little solar system like objects with hard little protons and neutrons and electrons that moved continuously through “empty space”. That was “reality”. WAS.
Let me offer you a definition of what is real that you might agree with. Reality is what is here.
Is EVE Online here? Is it somewhere?
Reality is also what is now. Can you bring EVE Online into the here and now? If so, then I assert that it is “real” insofar as anything can be defined as “real”.
^^ TL;DR Pseudo intellectual rhetoric, a lot of words conveying little of value in an attempt to to embiggen one’s ego.
The times, where these rules didn’t exist, are actually longer than the times with these rules. Children didn’t and don’t actually require such a high level of protection and as evidenced by lots of people nowadays, it’s actually counter productive. The idea that they do, to the extent we’re seeing nowadays especially, is mostly just modern ■■■■■■■■.
I’m so glad someone put this sign up there.
People need to be warned and protected from the sign!
If it wasn’t there, they could get hurt!
One could also say that that sign is...
edgy
ba dum tsh
Do you think people need to be protected from too many rules? Like, should there be rules against having rules? That seems self-inconsistent.
