Is it not obvious?
EVERYTHING in Eve becomes farming. Everything.
I don’t know how I feel about this change.
I like this change, if only to see the hollow outrage culture of EVE Online’s community get mad about something that doesn’t really matter.
Bet it will matter a lot.
CCP is basically putting a big red “easy farm mode” button on exploration.
Would you mind explaining this? You still have to go and scan down the signature when you get to the system. This just saves you time so you don’t go to systems blindly and find empty ones.
It would be my pleasure. It’s quite simple, really - Everyone then knows where to go, the more…intense farmers will race to them, the less farmy and/or experienced players will be left behind.
That doesn’t change much, imo, as sigs can be scanned quite quickly.
You mean…explore?
Yeah, well it points everyone else to the same thing it points you to, remember.
You mean waste time?
That sucks, but more “intense” players should be rewarded for their “intensity”. Just how the game works.
So you agree that this doesn’t actually change anything other than being able to see the signatures.
Doesn’t bother me as regards me personally. I can compete just fine and have in many aspects of this game for some time. It’s that exploration is being promoted as a new player activity choice and supposedly the same people want to increase retention. Discouraging nwer players by changing a mechanic that aint broke seems counter to their own goals.
But, hey, w/e. I don’t run this joint and I don’t really care passionately about this issue…it just seems a bad idea to me.

No one is discouraging newer players. Nothing about this mechanic discourages newer players. If anything, it will show newer players that there are systems out there ripe for exploring in.
In fact, newer players will be benefited since they will be able to direct their exploration to systems that are actually populated with Signatures, and not be forced to idly float around for several dozen minutes looking in systems that may have already been cleared, either by these “intense” players, Exploration bots, or other newbros.
Either way, all this anger is just part of EVE Online community’s love for outrage culture and the desire to be mad at something for the sake of being mad.
Making it so you can see where anoms and sigs are at range might make people go out and roam around a little more beyond their comfort zones, like into lowsec perhaps. Maybe that’s the idea, more of that pressure from CCP to make gameplay happen
Malcanis’ Law, friend.
I’m not angry, I’m not mad.
Saying something might not be a good idea is neither.
I’ve said my piece. o7
Why do you have to search for clone soldires, mordu spawns, officers and dreads? Let them all be shown too
Some changes are quality of life changes, some are dumbing down.
What makes these the same as Cosmic Signatures that they would be added into a feature like this?
If I go after them I also have to waste time, dont I. Just like travelling to find sigs.
And sites that dont escalate and only drop OPE or tag and ammo, want them gone too, why waste time?
You’re attempting to make a very poor slippery slope argument. Good effort though, but I’m not gonna take the bait, and I encourage others to ignore this low effort troll.
Its your arguement my friend.
Exploration is the act of searching for the purpose of discovery of information or resources. The action of traveling in or through an unfamiliar area in order to learn about it.
Exploration is about investigating the unknown, not about knowing exactly where to go and what to expect.
You’re being very pedantic the dictionary definition of “exploration.” Cute though.

Your argument is completely unreasonable and more importantly, incorrect.
