It definitely isn’t milk…
The term Almond Milk is most likely just used to give it a sense of normality, most people drink milk thats normal. But Almond Juice just doesn’t have the same ring to it, it’s hard to sell…
Almond milk is weird for you? Then don’t get me started on soya milk - the thing it’s literally a soup.
I suppose coconut milk is a direct analogy to almond milk. And on the other hand, there is also coconut juice (the clear juice from young coconuts, not the milk from a mature coconut’s meat).
There’s also thistle milk, which is not edible that I know of. But I suppose it’s called ‘milk’ because it’s white, and a little thicker than what you’d think of as ‘juice.’ There is also milkweed, which I guess has some kind of ‘milk.’ The internet talks alot about its importance to the Americas’ monarch butterflies, but I can’t find anything at all about the milk.
This thread is classic OOPE so far. CCP, in its wisdom, gave us OOPE exactly for this kind of thing.
There are others.
The plot thickens.
Almond Juice however does not.
The classic Asian dish - Cream of Sum Yung Gai is also a “milk”.
