Alpha changes: Best (Battle)ship for LvL4 missions

This math is only theory. In practice you need to deal with lags, server ticks, desyncs, npc movements, missile launch, etc. So you will have a little more speed buffer. Its like a minute or two to try out your fit anyway.

Railthron with nanofit is kind of ok for that purposes.

i didnt do a raven fit because alpha missile skills look kinda crummy to me compared to alpha gunnery skills

I recommend Typhoon over a Raven. The last one pretty weak in terms of scan res and targeting distance.

Hi, I am new here. This Rattlesnake fit is Stable? I tried to put in pyfa and its not Stable even with “all 5” skills. Its suppose to be played with an unstable capacitor? Like toggling on/off modules acording the situation?

turn it off.
You should be cap stable with medium shield booster + large cap.
If you are not, I suggest replacing the therm rig with another CCC. Though I would instead put a solidifier, as I think cap stability is overrated.

First of all - when calculating shield boosting vs armor boosting you need to take into account a few things: passive shield recharge (which a RS can use as a main tank) , faction boosters - can be very energy effective. Shield boost amplifiers - that’s 36% more boost for the t2 version. Boost comes at the beginning of the cycle rather than the end. Invulnerability fields best energized adaptive membranes come to 35 % with perfect skills, while best invulns go up to 45%(56% when overheated) . Last but not least - for PVE you want as many damage mods as you can fit, and while a ship can be tanked with 2 armor modules, which take away 2 slots for damage modules, a shield ships uses no low modules - you can pack it up with damage mods.

You don’t need any drone tracking modules on a Gila. Just have 1 flight (2 drones) of either augmented or at least T2 Valkyries. They have super tracking on their own. The targets that your usual Augemnted hammers will hit for less or have trouble hitting have very little tank. So even if its something with high resists to explosive damage, the small targets will still go down in a hit or 2. Then switch drones for the bigger ones.

You’re wasting tank / utility slots for unnecessary drone tracking stuff.

The Valks are also the fastest moving drones, so what you do is pop em out on warp in, target + kill all the small ships, switch them, then do the rest.

When was the Raven made slower since the battleship price extortio- errm I mean rebalance?
It is true that the Caldari may not have nice things because minmatar bias but the Raven is not a slow ship.
Well if you put rocket launchers on, it may take a few minutes to do level 4 missions.

The raven is the same ship it has been and power creep made other ships better choices. I’m pretty much never going to pick the raven over the mach, and where I am better with a raven I think I’m even better off with a barghest or rattlesnake.

and on that note I don’t know that the raven was ever a fast ship, but for years it was the easy choice. People over tanked it, and for years almost no one did blitzing. Would love to go back in time and make some good comparisons between the various ships but clearly can’t do that. There’s been a handful of tweaks to missiles, and a handful of tweaks to the ship itself, but like I said the net effect for mission ravens is rather small.
