ganking is not always playerS vs player. if a ganking ships job is to do as much dps as possible in as few seconds as possible they are going to put 0 tank on it, meaning you can easily kill them with a few drones and youll survive if you put a decent tank on your ship if you are in an area where ganking is SOOOO bad. like, if someone is ganking you, why not have some fun, find a buddy with a t3 or HAC or something and have them sit nearby and refit for baitship so they have no hope of plowing through your tank before your friend, AND concord wreck them. use DSCAN and you wont get caught by gankers unless its a cloaky bomber or something. which is not going to be an alpha player.

I just wish people would have a little more creativity with things before just whinning about it. youll have a blast getting some revenge and if its a nemesis trying to gank you all the time or its an issue in whatever area your in, they’ll even come to you. if your mining, you can fit that baittank AND still mine - what is the problem, your saying you get ganked by 3-4+alpha clones at a time all the time? I don’t believe that. but, hey im open to being proven wrong with some evidence.

Also PVP doesn’t mean 1v1. Just saying.

Well ganking literally means “gang kill” so it is/was many vs. one/few. But as it is, words sometimes drift in their meaning.

You got ganked because you made yourself a soft and/or lucrative target. You will fail to improve as a player if continue to blame external factors for your losses. Instead, ask yourself what you can do differently.

I made this video a few years back, but everything I said in there should still be relevant today. Regardless, check it out.

Avoiding Ganks

Also, suicide ganking in alpha clones is probably far less of an issue than you think. You can’t multibox alphas, and lose out on something like 10% of your DPS because you can’t max out their skills (and that’s for catalysts; the problem gets worse as you move into more advanced ganking ships). So, not only does this make ganking in alpha clones not very attractive for gankers, but it also means that if you are in fact getting ganked by alphas, then you’re doing something especially wrong.

Well, all things considered, since there’s lots of nice stuff alphas are locked out of, and nobody has a problem with that, except freeloaders maybe, then locking the safety switch for alphas is a legit and “fair is fair equal justice” move.
After all, if ganking is supposed to be this great and wonderful Eve-saving superior leet PVP “content creation” then it should be something that people have to pay for, like the other things in Eve that people have to pay for.
Logically there’s no way around it. Alphas should have a locked safety button. Besides, alpha accounts are for noobs, and we don’t want noobs screwing that up.

Filth like this is why I’m so glad CCP never pays attention to these forums.
It doesn’t make sense and even tries to use the “won’t people think about the newbros!” appeal to push their own agenda.

Now now, scoots, Don’t spiral on me. I know it bothers you. But the cat is already out of the bag on this. It’s only fair that alphas have a locked safety button. If a fellow players wants to do that bot-like behavior of having a boatload of high-level ships mining ore and has to pay for omega accounts to do it, then it’s on’y fair that the guy who wants to gank him also have to pay for omega accounts.
If CCP does not do this, then we will know that they do care, not about the forums, but about pampering people like you. And nobody likes it when your ilk are given an upper hand. They won’t play. And then you have no targets.
Besides, loyal… uh,… australian shitpoaster… would have more to brag about if he was using all omega accounts. I don’t even doubt that he already does. But such a fair and justified move by CCP would simple weed out the scrubs. You are not a scrub, are you? You seem to be easily riled up like one. Maybe the forums are not for you?

If it’s high level mining ships, then they can’t be ganked by one guy with an alpha. So that ganker is already paying for multiple omega accounts.

If on the other hand it’s a fleet of alphas being flown by multiple people, then good luck to them having fun together.

The better approach would be to open barges and exhumers up to alphas. Orcas are the default in highsec these days anyway, so making barges/exhumers available to alphas doesn’t seem like a huge impact on the economy, especially given CCP’s approach to resources at the moment.

Say what now?

Was there something not understandable in that?

The words were understandable. The idea is moronic.

So is the OP, so let’s hope neither happens.

Locking the safety green is impossible. Yellow, maybe, but not green. It has been so long since I used safeties… can you shoot somebody in lowsec with the safety on yellow?

Yes, but not pods that are not legal targets for you.

Strange mechanic. The gate guns shoot you the same for a ship or a pod.

Just the difference in crimewatch mechanics between what is considered suspect (ie. shooting a ship, steeling from cans, etc.) versus what is considered criminal (ie. shooting a pod that is not a legal target).

Gate guns respond to any crimewatch triggering event whether suspect or criminal, however if you warp into a FW complex you can kill the ship and the pod without any sentry guns. However, the victim only receives a killright if you shoot their pod.
