Imagine crying this hard because other people choose not to bankroll your space-hobby.
Alpha clones aren’t ‘ruining EVE’—but your ego-inflated martyr complex might be.
If your entire identity in New Eden collapses the moment a free player voices an opinion, that’s not a balance issue, that’s a you issue. EVE’s economy handles trillions of ISK, but apparently it can’t handle one bitter vet with a wallet superiority fetish.
And let’s not pretend Omega magically makes someone skilled. Half the flotsam in space are Omegas who subbed once, bought a battleship they couldn’t fit, and became a killmail before they loaded grid. Turnover isn’t caused by alphas—it’s caused by people who meet attitudes like yours and think, ‘Yeah, no thanks.’
So if you’re worried about retention, start by looking in a mirror
A menace to themselves that I can see, especially when I zone back in and it’s 3:33am when I promise to put my butt in bed at 23:00
A menace to EvE, no.
That is not the fault of Alphas. It is a combination of many bad past decisions, lots of which didn’t have to happen.
If Alphas are guilty of something, it’ buying PLEX.
You’re not paying anything at all. Why should your opinion matter ? It’s Omegas who pay to keep the lights running….without which you wouldn’t have a ‘free’ game to play.
We’re providing your free lunch, yet you still manage to find things to whine about.
Personally I think only Omegas should be allowed on the forums.
It feels like the same pattern repeating: a new, heavily promoted feature draws people in, but interest fades quickly when it doesn’t meet expectations. This has been happening with CCP’s approach for many years, rather than focusing on long-term growth for the game. It’s disappointing, but at this point it seems to be the reality.
