The Frostpacker will glady sacrifice his alts and their ships as many times necessary to maintain the KB ratio of his idol, no matter how much ISK or even real-life $$$ it takes and if there were no alphas to gank Aiko would even accept such an offer without hesitation out of sheer desperation at that point. 
PLEX are paid for by the PLEX buyers. No one forces them to buy PLEXes or sell them but their greed for isk. If you take that away from the PLEX buyers, you will invite another big crowd of people yelling at you that can not casually swipe their credit card anymore and buy their isk without grinding…
No sir! To correct you, the player with CASH buys the PLEX and sells it to the freeloader for ISK who exchanges it for omega time. They can sell all the PLEX they like and convert to ISK.
If you have paid cash for omega, you have nothing to cry about. Those prepaid accounts would become subscribers. Those who PLEX accounts would drop to trial and gone, without a CASH payment.

We all know the math, about 35 to 40 thousand players online at any given time. Let’s assume most only play 2 hours a day. That is as high as 480 thousand players online per day. Maybe more? Even if the alphas and PLEXERS represent 50 percent of this number. This means a community of at bare minimum of 250 thousand legit cash subscribers. At $20 dollars per month that is 5 million per month or 60 million per year.
They cannot do this half-baked, it has to be no cash, no play. No omega for PLEX.
I thought this was obvious what i meant, as it would make no sense to buy PLEX with isk and then to sell PLEX to get isk. Bottom line is that PLEX doesn’t come out of thin air and CCP just doesn’t care who is paying for them, just that anyone does, which is a great concept. It means that if you are good at the game, you can get a direct benefit by savings for your real life wallet. If you are bad at the game, you can compensate by buying PLEX. It is WIN-WIN-WIN for both of those players and also CCP.
Maybe limiting the alpha clones to a few systems might be a good idea too.
But again I think removal of alpha clones would be beneficial to Eve with a return to paying after 3 weeks introduction.
I wouldn’t call the person using PLEX to Omega their account a freeloader. They have to work for that ISK, and it takes more hours of effort, in what is supposed to be a game, to PLEX than if you paid cash for Omega.
I don’t make a lot of money per hour, I can afford this game because I have very few bills. It takes me about an hour at work to earn enough for 1 month of Omega. The highest earning activity I’m aware of that an Alpha can do averages about 8 hours of grinding to earn enough for the same Omega. There may be a few faster ways for an Alpha to earn that, but there’s no way I’ve ever seen to Omega in an hour.
Alpha is great for people new to the game, far better than a 21 day trial that you spend the entire time sitting in station doing nothing training basic skills. Alpha is also great for those times you came up short on PLEX for Omega and need to grind a couple hundred million ISK to get it. It is an extended trial and way to grind into Omega.
What Alpha is horrible for is a full time way to play the game. People who do that just drain resources, rarely providing meaningful content outside being extra pulses in a fleet. Full time Alphas create unnecessary competition for low end content and drive down market prices for the rewards of that content, causing the people using it as intended to work harder for Omega.
Win-win-win for everyone, except that contingent who can’t/don’t want to pay for the sub nor are good enough at EVE to PLEX their account so they whine about others being able to do it.
If CCP removes the free to play players, this includes those PLEXERS, I am sure their friends can buy them a gift card code for omega instead. The 3 week free trial would be turned off and old unpaid accounts erased. This would give paid customers more room to play, without freeloaders.
You can’t allow the trial members to PLEX for omega status or you end up with freeloaders who did not EARN their right to play.
No sir! It comes out of my pocket. Then some alpha freeloader buys omega with it. They are freeloaders in the sense they have not worked in the real world to earn cash and pay for what they now have. Time for the PLEXER to start paying and stop begging.
Sounds like a free loader when they bought the omega with PLEX. Are you seriously going to tell me people pay $25 per month for PLEX, instead of $20 ( or less ) to just buy omega directly? As @Razor8lade said, it doesn’t sound like you possess the “socioeconomic situation” to afford to play.
The Alpha/Omega system gives off a bit of a pay-to-win impression to me.
EVE has always been subscription-based, since day one. You either paid the sub, or you got a 14-day free trial and that was it. The situation hasn’t changed. Alpha is simply an extended free trial…
Why change it if its just the same?
This assumes that guys who PLEX their account don’t have the financial means to pay for the game. A lot of us do (I can’t speak for everyone). We just don’t have to when we have enough means on the account to PLEX it for years. I don’t have anything else to do with all that surplus ISK, why should I keep it in my wallet collecting dust?
If CCP removed the possibility to PLEX the account (they likely won’t do it, since it directly brings money into their wallets), I would start paying with real money. Nothing would change, I’d still play the game.
I see it as an accomplishment in this game that I am able to generate as much income as to sub for free.
We can always go back to the old system, if you like. 14-day trial and that’s it. Either pay or don’t play at all. That was the previous system. CCP has been exceedingly generous in their implementation of the Alpha account.
You stated it was a 14 day trial. There are alphas and PLEXERS who have played here now for years. PLEXERS are operating the game through grinding alt armies and PLEXING one or more accounts. Their actions, trading PLEX, don’t add income to CCP. Anyone here urging others that PLEXERS are paid customers, are either PLEXERS themselves or sadly mistaken.
PLEX isn’t generated out of thin air by players. It is sold by CCP, which had to be paid for in cash by other players. The only PLEX that is technically generated out of thin air is the 5 or so PLEX you get from doing the daily reward track, which doesn’t amount to anything…
I’m afraid calling the Alpha/Omega system ‘generous’ feels like the joke of the year—especially after you consider the Omega price increase?
How is it not generous? As an Alpha you get to play until the end of time for free. What more do you want?
guys, guys, guys, you’re forgetting something. Omega or Alpha doesn’t matter. It’s a warm body logged into the game. Numbers! That’s what we want - Players Online - Numbers! It keeps the share holders happy.
