Alpha restrictions. It's time to let go, CCP

Meanwhile…

Karee just wants a permanent life-time omega clone option…

Paying rent for things players unlocked in omega clone and not actually owning anything and not having it permanently unlocked/accessible to use is stupid…

Rather spend the average expected monetary value of an account and just be done with it…

Legit, that’s the only thing stopping her from spending a single dime in this game, just give her a life-time omega clone option and she’ll get that nearly without hesitation with nothing but happiness afterwards most likely.

*So long as the price is reasonable, if it’s some non-sense like $1000+ then that’s a strong nope, but if it’s somewhere closer to around $500+ then sure, gimme gimme!

$500 is just shy of four years of subscription. That would be a very bad deal for ccp.

A new clone tier would allow Alpha players to advance their skills while still being able to fly some, but not all TII ships.

With the Echo Clone, a player could fly TII interceptors and non-drone based TII frigates.

The only way some interim (paid) clone makes any sense is to nerf the free component (namely ships) with Alphas, ie: ships if not ships and skills.

Well Karee did say 500+
*Which means the price can easily be more.

What is a reasonable price for a life time omega clone subscription?
*Note that “life time” in this case, means the life time of the game itself and how much longer this game has left in it’s mortal life span as that’s the only reasonable/realistic metric we can use when determining a reasonable price for a life time omega subscription.

(Karee will probably make her own forum post about this later since this is buried deep in replies to this post.)

A lifetime subscription when Eve Online was first released could have been thing. But with just subscription and not any ISK or PLEX as a bonus, most players would not have purchased a lifetime subscription.

Eve Online is in twilight years, ten years, 15 at most…until the Veteran gamers start retiring and have nothing more important to do then play, Eve Online.

The older generation, the ones who made Eve Online, Eve Online, should be setting expectations to keep the legacy of Eve Online going for another 50 years.

Why not turn this legacy game into an epic on its 100th year anniversary?

Why not marauders, HACs and other stuff?

Because what would be the carrot for the other half of full priced Omega clones then?

That’s oddly specific. What exactly are you lobbying for? Some sort of cheap alt that can point for you?

or is it

As it is explained in How EVE Online Got Its Monetisation SO RIGHT video from 8:24

Alpha Pilots generates content for the omegas to do, either it is PvP directly or market PvP

CCP is already experimenting with this with the expert systems. Most of them just give players alpha level skills, but there is one that gives players access to mining barges. It wouldn’t be crazy for CCP to expand this concept.
