Oh but see, it doesn’t matter, because it’s just Thorne’s money. So it’s more or less free anyway.
I’m trolling you, because you’ve clearly been trolling this thread from the very beginning.

You say that, but don’t be too sure.
Just because you disagree with someone doesn’t mean they are “trolling” you.
You weren’t trolling me. You were trolling the thread / op.
You say that, but don’t be too sure about it.
You admitted to trolling yourself, so it seems to be your MO, and you’re projecting that onto me.
Nice try tho.
One day, you might get the thinking and logic thing down. But today doesn’t seem to be that day.
lol. Full of yourself much?
Sounds like you’re admitting to trolling as well. Or more likely, attempting to sound witty.
You weren’t trolling me, because I hadn’t made a post in this thread yet when you started.

Anyway… this conversation is pointless. And quite off topic. That is, unless you commit to paying for everyone’s Omega. You know you want to.
What would be interesting is to ascertain how much Alphas contribute to EVE financially.
We did actually get some clues to that in the thread about the intermediate clone / price point. When alpha’s were introduced, the in game sales volume for plex went up about 25-30% and stayed pretty stable at that level. Those Alpha to Omega upgrades can be attributed to Alpha clones because that’s revenue CCP wouldn’t otherwise have made.
The upward pressure from increased demand for plexing alpha accounts is also likely a large contributor to the rise in plex price. The higher the price PLEX can be sold for, the more incentivized people are in buying PLEX to sell on the market.
So yeah, we don’t have exact figures, but Alpha contribution to CCP’s coffers is significant.
No where did I say that.
But you keep saying it as if it somehow makes that true.
It would appear that your reading comprehension skills are on par with your skills in logic.
Yes it is. I’m not sure why you felt the need to troll me and derail the thread. But I’m glad that you are admitting to it and finally taking personal responsibility.
Good job.
False equivalency.
Paying, or not paying for omega has nothing to do with posting on a forum.
That’s some really strange logic you have there.
If you go back and read the previous post, you might be able to puzzle it out.
Paying, or not paying for omega
No, it’s just that you’re really concerned about people being freeloaders… so you should pay for omega for them, then they wont be freeloaders. Some might say they’d be freeloading off of you, but you don’t really count, so it doesn’t matter.
So yeah, we don’t have exact figures, but Alpha contribution to CCP’s coffers is significant.
Without a frame of reference compared to Omegas, etc. it’s hard to speculate.
well… I gave you a frame of reference. That was back before the PLEX split, so the amount of cosmetics in the game was paltry. The vast majority of PLEX being bought on the market, would have been used for the subscription.
It’s possible to take those sales numbers and compare them to the number of concurrent users prior to the Alpha introduction, and that’ll give you a relative ratio. Even if you cut the number of total PLEX sales in half, and claimed that just those were being used to subscribe, it would still be significant.
It’s not prefect of course, but it’s the best we have

Onus is on you.
it’s just that you’re really concerned about people being freeloaders…
I am? You keep saying that as if that would make it true. But sorry my little Socialist Cupcake. But, still not my responsibility to take care of them.
but you don’t really count,
You really shouldn’t project like that. Even though your reading comprehension and logical skills are pretty abysmal, you still matter.
I am?
yes
Socialist Cupcake
Sounds like you even have the branding for your philanthropic efforts.
If PLEX price drop back to 300kk - i won’t mind. Dont think anyone would.
sellers would.
what’s your fit for the t4 gila?
Alpha’s need a much more expensive fit for T4’s than Omegas but it is quite doable. I’ve never died in this fit as an Alpha and have been able to reliably complete all weather types except darks. The Gila struggles somewhat in darks and this will only be worse as an Alpha.

Rather expensive at 2 billions but it doesn’t need crystals although you need to know what you are doing, when to overheat, when to take drugs, etc. Only needs drugs for death rooms, such as several Marshals or a ton of Vedmaks. Most of the time drugs aren’t needed. Can downgrade the C Type Multispectrums to T2 if you stick to Exotics or Electricals, they are mostly needed for Firestorms.
So yes, Tier I ships are in fact Alpha Clone Class ships.
Nope. They’re also cheap ships to go PVP with, and try out things that need a hull different from what you have trained t2 hulls in. And the only cost effective things for learning the core mechanics of things like the abyss if you’re not already good or just following guides.
No, Omega players do not finance Alpha account play, that is a lie, truly the second biggest lie in Eve Online that sits right underneath anything a Ganker has to sa
What is the primary method for CCP to monetize EVE? Is it plex for omega? I do believe it is.
Only a player who cannot use the bonuses of a Tier II ship would fly a Tier I ship.
Cost sensitivity is a big thing, especially for things like gank boats. You also have mid SP characters who don’t have the t2/t3 skills for a given category of appropriate ships, like marauders, and so mission in a pirate hull.
Yes, it’s time to let go ! No more alpha clones , bring back the 14 days trial model.
+1
Ideally with 3 day grace of current alpha per sub, since they have the code already, so someone gets a firm reminder to plex back up and people like me who work sometimes 85-90 hour weeks multiple weeks back to back have a chance to get in and resub without needing to go through the old ticket system to get back in.
The free players are actually supporting the overall monetization of the game. They’re “additional content” for the paying customers.
Sure…but the bottom line is they are getting more than what they pay for yet still seem to manage to complain. It’s like a restaurant that hands out free 4 inch pizzas to anyone, and rather than being grateful for the free 4 inch pizza the customer immediately complains ’ that guy over there has a 16 inch pizza and it’s not fair ! '. Never mind that the other customer is actually paying $15 for his pizza.
nope a 430 million isk tengu
