Alphas have extended the life of EVE, I could see a nerf to ships (battleships), but they are not going away.
Well, it’s been a few days. It’s time for more nerfs
lol
Just to throw more salt out there, I say nerf Alphas from daily rewards and rewards from events.
And…
Limit the ability to fit Tech 2 blasters/cannons/pulse weapons etc for Omega status pilots.
To be fair, I don’t know and I frankly don’t really care. I am a consumer and as such, I am only concerned with the consumers side of the story. I don’t think it’s my place to determine how a financial shortfall should be fixed, the best I can do is communicate why I am currently not playing, and what would be needed for that to change.
I have to admit that my life outside of the game has changed enough for game to no longer fit into it that well. I always enjoyed PVP, but not so much that I would pay real world money for the privilege… PVE and null politicking burned me out completely. I am quite aware that what I would want out of Eve might simply be incompatible with the concept of a viable, marketable product.
I’d like a benefit to Omega players instead.
Let me log on 1 Alpha toon with my Omegas.
Or, better still, allow a special category of Alphas that can be base trained to 10m SP and which can ONLY be logged in alongside one of one’s Omegas once it passes the existing Alpha level. There should be more reward for being Omega.
There’s a ton of benefits to Omegas - but I don’t think allowing an Alphas to coexist with an Omega account is a good idea. Yes, Alphas are already being multiboxed and abused by players with VPNs and virtual machines - but I think this is still the exception (<50%) and not the rule (>50%). Fingers crossed, anyway…
I certainly don’t have any problems with “buffing” Omegas or offering more incentives to ditching FTP, though.
