I’m trying to find out what capsuleers like to use. Just a bit of curiosity.
Please list your favorite ammo and why it’s your favorite.
If several different kinds, please list your favorite first.
If you use lazers, please list which ones.
If you use drones, what’s your favorite?

I like to use Voids and Javelins.
I do not use drones for anything.
Everyone uses every type of ammo and drone for various purposes…

My point is, there is no best or favorite ammo or drone type. They are all situational…

Heavy Beam Laser. Caldari Navy Multifrequency and Aurora. Less DPS than the pulse laser version but greater range. Ideal for suspect hunting at Jita. Range can be 78km to 101km depending on fitting.
BUT…the laser is useless for up close and personal due to slow turret tracking. As with all weapons in Eve, there are benefits and there are drawbacks.
Currently training for cannon and autocannon for Tornado and for Gnosis.
As for drones…so far its Gallente drones such as Hobgoblin II and Hammerhead II…mainly due to the higher DPS they give.

I do in my other chars. In Absolute Order I often fly Eagles, which use Javelin, Spike, Caldari Navy Antimatter in the 250mm Railgun. In Wrecking Machine I fly a Typhoon that uses missiles…6500 DPS alpha shot. I have a Leshak too with precursor weapons. But in this largely solo account I much prefer lasers for the time being…though am looking to get more up close and personal with cannon and other fits.

My personal favorite ammunition is the ship itself. A Vagabond slamming into an AFK Orca at 18 km/s is quite effective…

also as for me, its situational depending on what rats im fighting… mostly missiles since i’m PVE’ing.

I’m not saying. It’s beyond the purpose of this whole forum.
They do have different weaknesses so it makes sense to use what’s appropriate.
I like missiles and rockets but they’re a little too expensive for my purse.

So which guns fire PLEX again? Is there a T2 variant?
T1 missiles are pretty inexpensive depending on what ship and what type of missiles… i use T2 Cruises with my ship
though your most expensive ammo is always the one you are flying… your ship.

not generally… I don’t do PVP though

They’re often a starting point for some early manufacturing. The non-hisec minerals can be obtained from reprocessing the loot from your missions.
If you run caldari missions and collect LP for a shop that sells faction missiles, that’s also a first entry point for converting LP to ISK if you buy the faction ammo with the necessary t1 missiles, then sell the faction ammo, or at least have better missiles for your own use (albeit expensive for simple pve)
Missiles, like any other weapon system, are good for pvp, as usual depending on the situation.
Favorite ammo ? Whatever it takes, because fully x-trained. In my first years I was limited to crystals, expanded with missiles and drones (incl sentries). Rather my starting point is style of flying, kiting, speed tanking, sniping, brawling, which leads to a ship, which determines the weapon system, and then finally the ammo 
p.s. it pays off to push to t2 weapons and ammo !! (dunno if it’s still the case but t2 lasers used to only be really worthwhile when pushed to lvl 4 specialization skill, that was less the case for the other weapon types).
