Ammunition

I discovered the X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster the other day. OMG…life will never be the same. You really need two of them ( as the reload time is 60 seconds ) and a Shield Boost Amplifier and probably co-processors too. No amount of PLEX can buy knowledge of such fittings or how to make best use.

I’ve got training done up to large hybrids ( lvl 4 right now), the medium ones that use Javelin and small blasters that use Voids. A few more weeks and I’ll be done with all the hybrids guns and t2 ammo. I will look into missiles then.
Thanks, Wadiest

Like anything, in order to be effective it takes practice. Angle of approach, speed, mass.

I thought I knew about bumping years ago when James 315 was around. Then a friendly ganker came along and challenged me to bump a barge which was mining while in close orbit around a rock, using a fairly low-powered prop mod. It was really difficult.

But, with practice, I managed to get it right and bumped the blighter. Then, in that way beloved of friendly gankers, he indicated a wretched little Venture doing the same. Could I hit the bloody thing? You bet I couldn’t!

Can only recommend the same approach to you as well.

That’s the pertinent information I will be looking for. I have no idea on any of that. Maybe I should watch a video, right?

So the smaller the ship the harder it is, correct?

Hybrids ? Even though you are Minmatar ? That’s early x-training

I very recently trained up a forgotten minmatar alt to fly the Svipul, just to run lvl 3 missions and some of the 3/10 and 4/10 combat sigs. Phased plasma for t2 autocannons, or their faction version often hit a sweet spot. Still working on pushing some sp into the support skills - the alt really is woefully under-developed.

It’s a long story… Well not really. My first character ( the miner ) is Caldari. When I decided to jump headlong into New Eden I created Analoreke but I hated Minmatar space ( too red and with that hue it made the suns too bright ) and I remembered how nice Caldari space is ( a whitish hue that tapered the suns’ light ) and I thought since Caldari are friends with Minmatar I could operate in Caldari space without losing standing with Minmatar. And I don’t much like Minmatar ships either.

That sounds deadly. Those rocks better watch out.
My mining alt is still training into Miner || but she won’t need anything fancy. Rocks for now and P.I later.

HAMs and Cruise mainly.

I’ve got a Manticore with torps but still tweaking the fit for that.

they’re supposed to be friends with the Amarr (and Gallente with the Minmatar).

a common thing in quite a few hisec regions. My minmatar pilot operates in amarr space, swapping the color of rust for the color of gold, which is easier on the eyes, but is flying minmatar ships. One day, that’s going to be a Loki

p.s. a lot of missile use in the alliance tournament…

Gosh, I got it all wrong! Although I’ve been doing missions for the Caldari and my standing with Minmatar is all good.

I haven’t participated, too busy with learning everything, missions, skilling, scouting… Small steps, walk before I run. I’m surprised I understand half the stuff I run into.

I don’t even know what that is

Until you get to the storyline missions, or your agents start giving you missions against Minmatar (see small icon in the mission briefing during convo with agent).
In the former case, that can’t be helped - you just keep an eye on your overall standings and run the SoE epic arc to fix the worst one (possible every 90 days).
In the latter case, if you mind bad standings, just refuse them (no penalty if you do that at most once every 4 hrs), move to a different agent from the same npc corp and level and take missions for the next 4 hours to avoid standing hits.
Having a set of agents you run missions for, for the same LP pool, is a good approach.

If you ever run into real issues with standings (facpo shooting you, silly messages when entering space, or worse), you can follow The Plan, which was originally conceived by @DeMichael_Crimson

@Wadiest_Yong Thanks for the info!
I don’t really mind bad standing with the Minmatar anyway. They have nothing I want ( I think ).

If you’re like me, don’t try doing the maths! Depending on the target, you get a feel for where you should be aiming and, of course, you know what speed your Machariel will be doing (it was - and still is - my favourite bumping ship).

To stay on-topic I should mention that although one’s ship is certainly a weapon, bumping is an inexpensive way of ridding oneself of irritating interlopers without risking intervention by CONCORD; the ammunition is called effrontery. Alas, it is available in only one size but is nonetheless effective for that.

You want freedom of movement without silly faction police (or worse) trying to kill you in hisec :).
At one point I let my minmatar standing drop to below -7, just from running missions. Took me days of running lvl 1 distribution missions on three agents at the same time to fix it to above -5, at which point I could run the SoE epic arc again.

I operate in Caldari Lowsec so I think even when my Minmatar standing goes down I won’t be attacked by Caldari but only if I fly to Minmatar space, right?

yes, correct. A bad faction standing only applies to the corresponding faction space (hi/losec).

I try to keep my bad faction standings above -2. Because I had one incident with faction navy ships that blew me up as soon as I entered a hisec system, and that standing was still well above -5 but lower than -2. Since then I’ve had no issues moving around.
