So, when can I expect you to join the TLF?
When the Pendulum has any chance of mattering.
About the response I expected.

I am okay with that as well, Ms. Ambrye, as long as you won’t strart bullying those, who consider slavery a normal daily state of things and live in the territory where it is legal.
Actually, belief is a human trait that arises from our desire for knowledge, especially that knowledge that we aren’t allowed to acquire. We make hypotheses and we believe in them, until we find a way to prove or refute them. Then the belief transforms into knowledge.
This is what makes us different from machines.
Well, I can only repeat it once again. If such a thing indeed exists, then this thing has created the Universe and all the life in it, everything that we have and see, including our lives. Yes, that pretty much worth of worship, because otherwise it will be an outrageous display of disrespect and ungratefulness.
It is definitely not required though. All people can just live according to their own standard. There is no need of consensus on morals, as long as one group tries to bring their morals to other(s) group. If it happens, such behavior shall be prevented, most likely by force (since it will be hard to convince pricks, who consider such behavior to be normal according to their morals, that it is wrong). And again in such a case the consensus isn’t required. It is required only to stop the offenders.
Because it partly invalidates my point that I was bringing.
I would say they do imagine the God differently, but the belief is the same, considering it is taught in the Empire as a common worldview. Even we, Caldari, often learn in schools scientific hypotheses that weren’t proven yet and we do believe in them. I would avoid though calling it “belief in science”, as that would be absurd. Even scientific hypothesis (as one made by scientist) is definitely not a science, until it gets proven or refuted by scientific methods and becomes a knowledge. And there is a really little difference between “scientific” hypotheses and Faith in religion. After all, theology is as well a discipline where scholarship methods are applied.
And I thought them to be formal (despite all that space trash that slips in here). You could address me any way you like, provided it won’t be incorrect. I myself tend to address other speakers formally to show that I am open to civilized conversation with them. When I address somebody informally in here, it means I have already ‘discarded’ them as civilized discussion opponent and not interested in any conversaton with them except telling them to get the hell out, or, usually, to defame them in order to invalidate their lies that they were speaking about me (as it is the most common reason for me to drop respect to a speaker).

I think by that reasoning, Ms. Kim, that the Amarr should cease and desist all Reclaiming efforts on worlds and peoples that do NOT wish to be “reclaimed” even within their own borders. Seeing that one shouldn’t be bullying others on the basis of their own mores.
I think you and agree mostly on the nature of belief, particularly justified belief.
I think this is something that you and I are going to disagree on, so I won’t make you repeat yourself again and just offer my view on the subject.
In my humble opinion I believe that if there were some supreme being who gave me life, intelligence and a moral compass it would not expect me to violate those things if it were truly self consistent and moral. If this being asked me to turn off my intelligence and believe without evidence, or violate another person’s autonomy to make them believe, in order to gain acceptance into paradise I would rather go to the promised place of torment or oblivion then bend my knee to such a monster. I would at least know, in my final moments, that I was more moral than that god.
Your reply about consensus and morals bears some looking into. I think we may agree more than we disagree. This might be an interesting discussion for another time.
Your argument might have been, but if what you’re saying is factual then it remains so regardless. If further investigation proves that you’re wrong then you might have to reevaluate your position.
I struggle in this area too, to be honest. I really don’t like to be wrong.
Regarding belief, faith and hypotheses I think I might disagree with you here. This would require a whole new thread and I didn’t mean to drag the discussion as far off course as I seem to have. This is another topic that we may want to revisit some day.
Very well Ms Kim.
My title is not as fancy or prestigious as yours.
T. Ambrye, Second Lieutenant,

See.
And I believe the rumors of the said “reclamation” are highly exagerrated. And I have solid reasons to believe so.
-
I myself have served the Empire for about a year, fighting together common enemy. And I don’t remember any attempts to reclaim, preach or even debate with me about the religion. They have accepted me as is, just for helping them.
-
There is a nice book, called “Pax Amarria” written by Emperor Heideran himself, it contains quite interesting thoughts about what does reclamation really means.
-
The Empire doesn’t look inclined on forceful indoctrination and reclamation, they don’t spread their preaching as wide as the Federation spreads their brainwashing about democracy and freedom.
-
The current crusade and new reclamation against the Minmatar Republic looks more like a PR move for me to instill courage and pride in the hearts of Amarr pilots and troopers, who are sent to protect the borders from invading hordes of savages.
Technically, when the Supreme Being gives you life, what makes you think that this life is yours now, and not His? In the religious worldview, you are living in a world, made by the Maker with a life, given to you by the Maker, with rules set by the Maker. And, basically, there is only Maker’s will, who is capable of changing laws and morals on a whim for any purpose, known or unknown to us. You can accept His rules and get the “candy” in the afterlife, and you will be “the most moral” being for slaughtering and torturing others only because it was His demand. Or, you can refuse, making Him to punish you… or just laugh at your attempts, knowing that in the end there will be everything as He wants - because he can change everything in any given moment according to His will disregarding any of your moves, and just not giving you the paradise “candy” in the end.
Omnipotence is an interesting concept.
If that’s all true, Im gonna be whipped SO HARD in the afterlife. Ha.
Sometimes I don’t like to be right. At times I make quite grim predictions…
It’s just “D. Kim, St. Cmdr.” - only a rank, and not really prestigious, nothing like General, or even Admiral. The remaining part is just showing the place where I work. I think it’s just a proper way of signing, suitable not just for military, but for business conversations as well, just in the form of:
“John Doe, HR manager,
Human Resource Department,
Wololo Corporation”
PIE’s rules of engagement preclude us from shooting neutrals unless they have a proven track record of hostility against The Empire or make aggressive action (such as entering a military complex uninvited).
You have a proven track record of hostility against The Empire. So it would be prudent to accept that you haven’t all of a sudden accepted the error of your ways.
If, however, you would actually prefer to cease hostilities against The Empire and focus on anti-piracy (including taking action against the despicable slave-raiders) actions, then we would be open to updating your records within our archives as such. It wouldn’t get you an invite to our 15 year Anniversary Ball, but you would not be aggressed by Praetorians.
I have some grave doubts about that and will need to look into your points more closely.
And problematic. Why would an all powerful, or even maximally powerful as some would say, being require the worship, both solicited and otherwise, of lesser beings as ourselves? In fact, why would such a being even care?
Yes, being right is not everything it’s made out to be either.
I see, thank you for that explanation, Ms Kim.
I would expect no less of an official stance. I would however expect less on an unofficial stance.
I don’t take your ground, I stop you from taking ours. I don’t murder your noncombatants, I kill your combatants who salivate at the thought of killing ours (not PIE specifically, I have not heard of such actions from you). I don’t celebrate the death of yours, I celebrate the life that will continue on our side of the border.
None of that will change. My aggression has nothing to do with your people, nor you. We will prevail and I doubt my support of a free, thriving Republic will ever warrant compliance with your guidelines.
I always aim to please, officially. Unofficially, I can often be quite displeasing.
Look west, strike east. Couldn’t expect anything less.
And all of your reasons come down to seeing what the Amarr decide to let you see. Have you actually investigated the ‘claims’ you dismiss? Have you, for example, worked for the Republic to get an idea of how much slave-raiding the Imperial Navy is really doing? Or are you just trusting them not to lie to you?
You wouldn’t trust the Fed to not be lying about what their Navy and the Black Eagles are doing, would you?
This is the entire purpose of all of the slaves in the Empire: forceful indoctrination and reclamation. Do you think Federation preaching is actually more intrusive than literally controlling the lives of people from cradle to grave for generations?
Well at least you’ll have fun.
Or, you know, be a rookie pilot with no combat history sitting in the wrong kind of corvette while looking over the dead husk of your Tribe’s homeworld.
That sounds more realistic. Then again “eyes” are everywhere, especially when your “defending your borders” from deep within enemy territory.
I have a better idea.
Okay, so, the Empire knows it does not want a war with the Federation, right ?
So, all the Minmatar have to do, is, wait for it, this is a good one.
Okay, so what the Minmatar do is this:
They pretend to be Gallente whenever an Amarr is looking at them.
Thusly, the border between Federation and Minmatar space becomes blurred and confused, and the Amarr Empire refrains from provoking them, because they are uncertain if the Minmatar planets are actually Gallente ones.
It’s a genius plan.
Unrelated: there are some really interesting recreational products available in these Caille city pharma-bars.
Too difficult to achieve because it means we have to hide all the Tribal doodads we put on display every time, from tattoos to decals to clan marks to unique Tribal identities and traditions to blood ties to tattoos. It will take decades to do so and it cannot be done without resistance. We are talking riots on regular bursts here.
Not to mention, look at how different the Republic Fleet is compared to Federation Navy. Good luck hiding that.
Then there’s the matter of spycraft. If we start hiding Tribal identities at a large scale the Imperial intelligence will pick it up for certain. Always be expecting spies.
