When the space was worth something, people would fight over it. Now that it is not worth anything, nobody really cares who owns it. One worthless patch of null is as good as another.
What you are arguing for is “gudfites” which is something fc’s have done and continue to do. Pointless fights that are just there to give the null members something to do. Most fleet on fleet action I’ve been in the past year or two have been “gudfites” of one kind or another despite being some form of “sov” (npc space) warfare. Nobody is going to launch some god awful sov war for a “gudfite”. They’ll just ref some stations to see if anyone shows up.
Legit if someone walked up and evicted us right now, I’d be hard pressed to find a reason to really care.
Well let’s say I go to some random space. If I undock, what do I do? Rat? No. BRM will kill that(or in my case there aren’t any belts even). Mine? No. Asteroids/moons aren’t worth any money. PvP? Well I probably have to go to a different system to do that, so it’s a bit of a moot point. When I get to that different system, nobody is ratting. Nobody is mining. Presumably the pvp’ers are somewhere else looking for me or maybe just quit. Keeping in mind pvp’ers have to rat/mine to pay for things. And when the pvp’ers need isk, they’ll go to WH, HS, LS, etc. So it’s worthless space.
The rest of your comment is putting words in my mouth. If my space that I’m supposed to want to conquer is so worthless that getting evicted might actually increase the amount of money I can make, then why would I care if I got evicted?
I called out miners specifically because I could make an align time example, but other PvE was definitely mentioned. What do you mean about “roaming fleets being more effective?” I guess I agree that they were, during the blackout, for the first three days, after which roaming fleets were not finding anything during their roams, and came to the forums to complain about it. Right next to the miners and PvE’rs demanding the return of their safety net. The system of wolves and sheep is interdependent. It’s clear from the experiment that if Blackout came back, it would fail again. Therefore, it can’t be better than what we have now.
As I said in my previous posts, I mostly pvp. After fifteen years of playing Eve, I have enough isk that I don’t usually krab. I hunt krabs and I hunt pvp’ers hunting krabs. Why anyone else krabs in this space, I wouldn’t know. A lot of groups have years of inertia behind them and what they do. And you can see that inertia burning out after CCP’s changes.
Math is still math. The risk/reward for null just isn’t there. CCP’s poor decisions have generated a ton of resentment from the playerbase and are least partially responsible for the stagnation. HAC’s online has shown that. And only CCP can really do anything about that.
I’m not sure why you’re simultaneously saying that the players don’t want to fight and hated blackout, and yet blackout is your big idea to save Eve. A blackout right now would probably torpedo the game irrevocably.
Well yes, if you’re advocating for the end of Eve on the eve forums, it would make total sense that no one would agree with you.
My personal mentality is more that of a privateer. You were asking why people don’t want to fight for sov anymore, etc. So I explained it. Pvp/pve go hand in hand, much like they do in real life. The correct adaptation to a blackout would be to move to WH space, which understandably, not all groups would want to do.
So simply put, you want to see Eve die and are advocating for that. Yeah, nobody is going to agree with you. Why are you even here?
if i want to make ANY money i have to fight the minmatar
and its only okayish money
go to to vard right now
there is 30 mimies there
they even chased me to other system
if null sec wants great money they have to face great risks and offer great rewards to attacking pilots
no more farmvile imo
and yeah i know there is a LOT of line members that inject a LOT of money in EVE and wen CCP pisses them off they leave , and the money drops , yada yada , as aura once said
