An Open and Honest Letter to CCP from an Alliance Leader

No, what you prefer is making isk, if you cared about being “near friends” you’d still do that. Your aim isn’t being in null or being with friends, it’s making isk.

Which brings me back to one of my earliest posts:

Actually, this is a great idea. Could be tied into the faction warfare as well. Let’s say an alliance declares for Amarr they now have to deal with Mimintar incursions that attack structures, try to take away sov ect. Have it include all ship types with the incursion, Titans, supers ect. Make it to where the incursion rats for that faction also don’t attack anybody that has declared for them aka any alliance that has declared for Mimintar won’t be attacked by the Mimintar rat’s allowing them a bit of an easier time getting into the space and attacking the defense fleets.

If everyone gets free fitted titans and frigates do 5000 dps with 100km AOE range because “it’s what people enjoy” and the game would get more players that way, would that be a good thing?

Probably the smartest contribution in the whole thread. Nice one

no remove every ship thats bigger then other ship

ROKIE SHIPS ONLINE!!!

If all you want is people in ships shooting each other than yes industry should be removed, ratting should be removed, explo and worm holes removed. Ships should be free along with all the fittings, and no one should be able to make a single bit of ISK. Also remove any ship differences so no one has an unfair advantage over the other players. Seeing as we are jumping to extremes and putting words in people’s mouths and all that.

Thankfully this is a game that caters to more than just that playstyle regardless of if you like it or not. Miners and care bears have just as much of a place in this game as you with your preferred playstyle. Doesn’t matter if you like that playstyle or not. If you do not like that play style don’t engage in it pretty simple solution, go do the activities you enjoy and maybe while you’re at it go kill some of those care bear miners.

No one said anything the like, but thanks for showing your colours. You also, craftily, avoided the question.

What is lowered is excess, things aren’t removed.

I stayed in null sec, that’s precisely why I spun up separate accounts for high sec content. My main accounts are still in null as they always have been.

They don’t and I don’t see many players advocating for that either.

No, that’s not true. Making ISK pays for content pursuits, that could be stocking doctrine ships in staging, taking part in fleet fights, paying for solo roaming, small scale etc.

Now if you want to take part in HAC pvp fleets, you won’t need to grind much ISK, SRP will fund most of the content for you which is great. If you wish to pvp at higher stakes e.g. caps and supercaps which require multiple accounts (dread, FAX and super/titan) then you need deeper pockets to fund it.

Players are not just pve focused or pvp focused, in my experience they are a combination of the two. If you want to pvp you need to make your ISK somehow - or PLEX of course.

So how many caps do you need, how much isk have you made so far and how many caps have you actually used in pvp (that weren’t SRPed).

Correction, I did answer your implied question. That being that everybody should be given free fitted ships. The rest is semantics. As stated, if we want a pure nothing else going on but ships blowing up other ships game then yes. You also need to remove any kind of ISK generation and ship differences as well.

Yes, things where removed. Some of it rightly so. Aka moving Ore to region specific areas. Trit to Hi Sec only ect. Personally, I don’t think (as stated prior) they went far enough with it and should have added specific ores to each Empire and Pirate factions’ ships that are only found in those areas controlled by said faction. The industry changes removed players from space as they are now unwilling to risk assets they want to use as the ROI no longer makes sense. Market changes removed players from the game as well as their preferred playstyle is no longer tenable. (Also had the effect of driving up prices for everybody else)

At the end of the day why does it matter if somebody has 1 titan or 50? Somebody with 50 is probably going to put them in space where they can in theory be shot and destroyed over somebody with 1 who is going to have to take a year to replace. At the end of the day who cares if somebody has more space pixels than I do. It’s a game and frankly not worth being jealous of somebody who happens to be able to grind more or plex more ect and have bigger, better, shiner or more imaginary space pixels than I do. If somebody wants to sit on a belt all day and mine with 11 accounts, why does it matter? Go shoot them. They replace it go shoot them again. Can’t do it on your own? Get friends and go shoot them, they replace you just keep shooting them.

It wasn’t implied at all, we all need eachother. My point was about when things get silly and excessive should an MMO that’s based on player run economy and interaction (so not like most MMO’s these days which are pretty much single player games with MP lobbies) allow for excess like that, just because “players think it’s cool and you get more players that way”?

It does if it’s not “somebody” but many people because it makes any sort of engagement meaningless (“already replaced”) and nigh impossible. and if it’s done through the game mechanics and balance allowing for excess grinding as that creates an imbalance with the rest of the game and play styles.

What you’re saying is “why does it matter if Minmatar ships do 10 times more dps than any other, everyone has the option to fly Minmatar ships right so who cares”. You know better than this.

They tried that with the drifter invasion in null, they dropped no loot and had dooms days that 1 shot ships so people came up with a suacide strategy to use tons of cheap ships to take them out.

In the end the only thing it shook up is peoples moral in wanted to even play the game at all, the best way to force change is through something exciting and dangerous but rewarding and let the players get in each others way.

So what you’re saying is you can’t figure out how to make ISK in null.

Got it

Seems to matter to the people with 50 that they dont have 51 so they plan to leave unless they get it.

And they are expecting the rest of us to support that stance.

Don’t disagree with that overly, would be more accurate to say it became quicker and less risky to do it in high sec after anom respawn nerfs, BRM, scarcity and indy updates - and I value getting it done quickly so I can spend time on other pursuits.

yeah the Triglavian Invasion was amazing!
One day I managed to bump two ships at the undock with the same bump, then they got scrammed by the rats and killed since it was a player station.
Dudes on comm couldnt stop laughing

So how come the goons have figured it out?

Because what they “figured out” takes effort and can’t be AFKed, so he’s not interested in it.
