I can’t dock to station when i left station and someone starting scramble me. It shows me im docking but noting happend until i die and i dock as a cupselee.Only used repair module and MWD :confused:

zKillboard summary.

You undocked in pirate space (Tama is lowsec 0.3). Means no Concord. All they have to do is be able to survive the shots from the sentry guns around the station. And unlike high-sec, low sec stations have fewer than 6 sentry guns (2-4, some have none), so it’s possible to survive the sentry guns.

Specifics from your logs:

3 pirates vs. you. Pretty bad odds.
They used the following modules on you:

  • warp scrambler - you can’t warp away, and you cannot use MWD module
  • energy neutralizer - drains your capacitor to 0, no juice for repairs
  • they probably bumped your ship away from the station, so you were too far away to dock.

What you need to do next time:

  1. If you undock and there are pirates right there, just re-dock. The station gives you invulnerability until you do something like try to warp somewhere; it took 20 seconds from undock until they targeted you, so you just ignored them and tried to casually warp. Bad idea.

  2. You need insta-undock bookmarks for low sec. Station spits you out in a certain direction, and in that direction you have a safespot that you can warp to, which makes you warp to it instantly.

Beware that some stations (particularly Minmatar station) have bad shape so that you are out of docking range a few kilometers after you undock. In comparison, for many other station types you have glide for 10-30km before out of undock range.

There are 9 “Setting course to docking perimeter” in the log, which means this could be the case. I suggest you not to use Minmatar stations for a base because of that.

The only NPC station in Tama is a station that is very hard to re-dock at if you’ve just undocked. You appear in space right on the edge of the docking radius, and you float immediately out of range.

Yes they are because of the long shape, you have plenty of glide path plus they teather and rep you till out of docking range.

Probably because of the distance to the station. I cast a glance at overview after undock, Its not 0km. Although I pressed Dock repeatly and turned MWD on, I can’t get to station eventually. I thought I could, with MWD:confused:

If the attacker was using a warp scrambler, it will disable your MWD. Also, the carrier will deal some serious damage to your ship, thus lowering your time to survive.

That’s 21 seconds… Much time for campers to prepare you like a turkey for thanksgiving. As you were floating with say 200m/sec for 21 sec, you were 4.2km away - no chance for docking.
In lowsec (well, actually everywhere) it can save your ship, cargo, and even your pod to know what to do before undocking. Select a destination, open all important windows for navigation, have a look in local - that can be done before poking a toe out of station. Make sure to have a safe spot in your overview (Asteroid belt, Planet, moon, gate…) where you can warp to immediately. A safe spot as described by Memphis Baas above is opimal of course, because your vector is already in warp direction and warp starts really quick.

For setting safespots, I like to use a n00bship, equipped with a cheap salvaged afterburner and MWD (if it will fit) - the right rig can go surprisingly fast. When you undock, don’t change directions - just boogie in a straight line. The AB will allow you to keep moving if you get scrambled. Of course, if you get webbed AND scrambled, you’re toast anyway - but that’s OK.

What you want to do is drop a bookmark at the point where you’re about to be killed. Then you die. Then you set up the next n00bship in the same manner - undock, warp to bookmark, - do not change direction - and burn/MWD along the same line.

Rinse, repeat, until you’ve got a bookmark a goodly distance away. That’s now your insta-undock target. Create several more, at different ranges, because the pirates WILL be watching. Also: When using an insta-undock, make DAMN sure you don’t loiter there - the priates WILL be watching, and they’ll be coming for you.

This will only work in environments where bubbles aren’t possible.

My Atron runs 3100m/sec - worth about 200 - 300k ISK. Great for Lowsec scouting and quick jobs like Mission: Recon - I tried it with a Destroyer and lost it. Next attempt: a BC - warped out heavily damaged. Finally the Atron did the job within a minute without great damage.

For the sake of completeness (and because this is Newbie Q/A), you need to click the “max speed” throttle bar on the lower part of the circle HUD at the bottom of your screen. This way your ship goes from speed: 0 to speed: max, without you double-clicking in space to make it go. Because double-clicking in space may change the direction that you’re aligned with.

Anyway, “set speed to max” is the way. There are also keyboard shortcuts for it: ctrl-space for “stop my ship” and alt-ctrl-space for “go full speed”.

Ctrl-space is esp. useful, you can do that after undocking to stop your ship without losing the station invulnerability period.
