Eve should have the standard matches the other games have - carry the flag, destroy/capture the base, etc.
Kill the other team is certainly entertaining enough, but we could do so much more.
Also it shouldn’t be limited to 1 match to every 15 minutes - how about you have 2(or more) teams and instead of explaining what a tinker is for the n’th time take turns, 100 point event for 10 minutes, 50 point event for 10 minutes and 25 point event for 10 minutes(for instance), and then of course, between the matches the 250 points event where you get to blow up a station.
if these are things you want to do in eve then you can
if these are things you want added to the AT then please no.
you want to set up a tournament then by all means go do it all the tools are there
How do you cover a flag carrier when eve has no terrain and shots go through walls? How do you create interesting choices with different paths/lanes like other ctf games?
How does a base assault look like in eve? A structure bash? Thrilling…
Op, before you continue with this idea, actually think about it for five minutes and come back with a FULL proposal.
How does each game type work? Scores. Winning conditions. Rules. Cans and cannots. Ship types. Are they all allowed? Do some cost more than others? Are bonused webs too powerful in a ctf?
When you try to figure this stuff out you may realise that it’s not as straight forward as saying ‘lets add ctf. Yeah I’m brilliant at ideas’. You’ll run into the same hurdles everyone else has when it comes to creating new game types.
Then try to appreciate that ccp devs that run the AT do so in their spare time. It’s not on company time.
