Auto station ship spinning

Is there some way to disable this new automatic ship spinning? I don’t know why exactly but it is very annoying. Especially so if you are idle while doing something else. I realize you can click to stop it, but why?

I’ve not experienced this new feature, myself; but, I have adjusted my camera settings in the past, so I think if you “fiddle” about with the “Camera Settings”, under the “Settings” section in game, you can either eliminate or adjust this “movement”.

“Settings” are found top left, click the Neocom Menu. On my screen, “Settings” are 3rd from bottom on Neocom.

Have you tried not being afk? Rotating camera only activates after certain amount of time idling in station. When you do return from your momentary absence you just click or move camera once to stop it.

At worst, it’s a mild inconvenience. Nothing else - it’s a feature not a bug/issue.

If you really feel so strongly for adding a camera setting to disable this feature, I would suggest you make the request in the Little things / Small QoL suggestions

Dynamic Camera Movement under Camera in Options.

As i have already written in the relevant release feedback thread, i find it most annoying that you can not deactivate it. Something always moving in the background over the whole viewport gives me motion sickness.

Yes, you can turn off the dynamic camera, but then you lose other stuff like docking animations and everything else.

I find it very annoying to introduce these features without evaluation from some users. The term “motion sickness” was already written a few times with this topic, so i am not alone. It feels like really getting sick in the head when you have this rotating thing always going on.

Also no, a click anywhere doesn’t stop it. You have to click on the moving background. So it is not even an idle presentation. You work in some window and suddenly the freaking background starts circling around. Please CCP fix this ASAP!

TBH, what I find more annoying than the auto-rotation is that when it kicks off, it zooms in the camera. And if you click the background, it stops the rotation but doesn’t zoom the camera back out to where it was. Also, the timeout for activation seems pretty short (around a minute?), so it’s not like you have to be idle for long.

I think it’s strange that they added this feature without a toggle to turn it off or any way to change the timeout.

It is not about being idle. It triggers even if you work in the windows. That’s so annoying.

Apparently it’s toggled off with the dynamic camera setting.

Oh well if we’re doing absolutely inconsequential nonsense then I want the game font to be changed to one with zeros that don’t have a diagonal line through them, OR, one with those zeros, but also a strike through the number 7.

Also the 6 and 9 need lines underneath like pool balls, just in case I’m playing upside down.

@Kaylen_Amuman This isn’t that

@Gerard_Amatin sounds like that part is a bug, as I can see wanting dynamic camera movement remain on but the ship spin turned off.

@Akkar_Kardashev inconsequential nonsense eh? I can’t tell if that was aimed at me or CCP, but I’ll add to this just in case to just say that it annoyed me enough to login to the forum site here with 2FA and find the correct forum to write this request. There’s no way I’m the only jerk to hate this feature.

it’s inconsequential because relatively few people are just leaving the client open but not playing.

I hadn’t even noticed this “feature” until you brought it up, as when I’m in a station I’ve got the fitting screen or something else open.

If I get to the station and don’t open anything, it’s because I’m about to log out.

Is your fitting screen taking up the whole screen or what? Are you playing on 800x600 pixels or something?
My fitting screen takes only a small fraction of the monitor space and then suddenly the whole environment around it starts moving while i work on it.

Also to your first sentence: this thing starts not kicking in when idling. This starts kicking in after you have not touched the background for about a minute. Working in a fitting screen will not stop it from starting.

Yes the fitting screen does take up the whole screen and 1280 x 800

@Akkar_Kardashev this also happens every time I dock!

@Gerard_Amatin Just checked. Disabling dynamic camera movement has no effect on this.

You need to relog or redock after disabling it, i suppose.

So you play at a resolution that most others today don’t use. You also don’t even know about the criticized effect since you don’t notice it. You don’t even know when it kicks in and that it is not idle based.
Nevertheless you think this all qualifies you to call others out about “inconsequential nonsense”? I don’t get your reasoning?

Maybe go to a friends house and try to experience it on a Full-HD or 4K monitor before strongly argueing against other peoples forums posts on effects that you can’t even reproduce?

You assume I play at 1280 by 800 because I have nothing else.

An incorrect assumption.

I play at that resolution because I want to sit on the couch, and my PC is not at the couch, and sitting at the desk feels like being at work.

It’s only a problem for you because you are too shitey to undock, lest ye be ganked.

HTFU noob.
