AWOXING in Faction Warfare is out of control

Over the past few months AWOXing has reached peak silliness in faction warfare. Galmil is so riddled with awoxers that you can be in a system full of Calmil blinkies and your own faction will come kill you instead of any of the legitimate targets in the system. There are constant arguments and spam in the chat channels about this person or that person awoxing. Galmil is basically empty now because of it.

I am generally a fan of the brutal nature of EVE, and I am usually the first person to defend the design choices of CCP in this regard. But in this particular situation, I have to say there needs to be a better way. If you awox once or twice, it could be an accident. overview settings can make determining who is a proper target or not hard sometimes. But if you are constantly and consistently doing it there should be consequence.

I am not a game designer so I will not purport to have a magical solution. But maybe a certain amount of Awoxing should get you booted from the faction for some length of time, and everyone in the faction you just got booted from should have a kill right on you. You definitely should not be allowed to just sit in Galmil and awox for days on end with zero repercussion.

Faction warfare is where I would like to spend most of my time, but it’s really not much fun right now. Can we please open up a serious discussion about fixing the awox problem?

Awoxing really needs to be adressed. Maybe a simple solution could be to remove Corporation and Alliance enlistment, and only allow personal enlistment.
If a corp or alliance enlists, then all members will enlist, then only their individual standings count instead of the corp/alliance standings.
Afaik its possible to compensate people with bad standings with alts that have good standing.

If a corp has lots of -10s, it can take quite a few alts at zero to bring it above 0.00 to keep it in FW

It’s even funny. As soon as Groza defected from the Caldari militia to the Gallente, a thread appeared on the forum about the problem of avoxing in the Gallente militia.

Just a thought:

What if the rats in FW sites respond to personal standings. So if you’re in minmil FW, but have awoxed enough minmil ppl that your standings are negative (or -2 or -5… whatever) not only do the amarr rats attack you, but the minmatar rats do too.

Possibly, all hostile rats need to be cleared in order to make progress on the site.

This won’t have much of an effect on the corps that awox for a “living” but it will undercut the isk generation of your casual awoxer.
