Been out of the game too long, what's the current situation?

Hey fellow capsuleers,

So I’ve started playing in 2007 in the time of BoB, Pandemic Legion and Goonswarm. BoB got dismantled due to an inside job and it changed the whole political gamefield.

Been out of the game a couple of time and now back, and I’m really curious what the current situation is when it comes to political powerhouses.

Who’s with who? Who’s against who?
who’s winning and who’s losing?

serious (TLDR) answers only please

There are four major blocs in null sec at the moment of Init, Winterco, Panfam and Imperium.

End of last year/earlier this year Imperium relocated to be closer to Panfam for content and as part of their war, leaving Goon’s old home in Delve behind. As member of Brave I’m also part of the Imperium but don’t notice much of the war, things are pretty quiet at our home, much quieter than Brave’s space has been for many years.

Pandemic Horde appears to feel pressure and strategically relocated home twice recently. Pandemic Legion recently left them, which surprised me, but I don’t know exactly why they did it.

Winterco seems to have declared an invasion on Init, but from what I have seen there is little progress. Init took down a bunch of structures of winterco instead, but I don’t expect much to happen there due to a difference in timezones.

Outside null the new region of Pochven is dominated by multiboxers and wormhole space has it’s own blue doughnut in the higher class wormholes.

And today Pandemic Horde left Panfam (before this coalition get a new name), abandon its sovs and join Init. what a history

Yep, last night’s events will change the current situation in null a lot.

Don’t forget to mention that in contrast to 2007, we today have Hotdrops Online™. Unless you are in a big fat block that can always counterdrop on demand or using extreme small/kitin nano stuff, expect being dropped by the next best bigger blobgroup on any occasion. For some people it’s “content” to jump a dozen T3s, Recons, Bomber and BlackOps on a Drake that dared to pull an aggro timer at some random gate.

tldr: Lowsec has turned from a small- to medscale outlaw PvP paradise into a barren wasteland full of hotdroppers and blobbers. -_-

It’s nice to see the CAOD is still active

This is where everything used to happen
