It’s the only covert ops ships that can’t fit covert ops cynos. Sure looked like a bug to me, until CCP stated later that that was intended.
Really great feedback, honestly did not know this! We aim to have the target down and be warping off grid prior to the tackler’s cyno even running out (if still alive). On-lining plates following a jump-in could challenge that, but still good to know.
Very valid point! I have to confide a secret though. I may be passionate about BLOPS dropping, but in reality I’m a filthy casual no-skill Lowsec gate-camping scrub tier pirate . When the call goes out for a hot-drop, I’m typically rushing to get reshipped and re-undocked, asking for the desto system rarely (if ever) crosses my mind! Not the right answer, I know, but that’s just how it is
Regardless though, there’s still plenty of options available to get me out of a bind in the event that I piss away my fuel.
Mind blown! Completely overlooked the consequence that this idea would totally negate using a BLOPS in the cargo role. I suppose that could be both a benefit or a drawback, depending on your perspective. In either case, unintended on my part.
These series of points really got me thinking. The perspective shaping my OP was this:
- here we have a unique ship class that has this fancy jump drive built right in, why can’t it call in a fuel truck to get what it needs to do its mission?
- there’s plenty of gameplay options to get refueled or to maintain a link with your fuel reserve, but
- there’s this edge case situation, where you have no Mobile Depot and need to refit in hostile space!
Voila! Why not a Fleet Hanger for BLOPS! Win-win for everybody and maximizes ship class flexibility!
I failed to consider that in gameplay terms… the flexibility I desired merely needed to be available to be viable, not necessarily mandatory.
Unless, of course, CCP (re-)designed the hull class itself to make it mandatory.
We see this everywhere else in eve. From hull sizes, to PG/CPU limitations, all the way to module size itself.
So, when I asked…
Final answer: Yup!
Still a fantastic conversation, thanks for all the great discussion points! Even this one…
Fly dangerous!
Coincidence that guy named this… says this?
Nope
Huzzah! The point has landed!
I know that sounds rather sarcastic but I’m serious. The discussion in this thread while rather circular at times wasn’t bad and you kept responding in good faith and considering the points brought forward.
You also admitted that the other side had a legitimate point when one was presented.
I’d take a dozen of these threads over the average PFAID thread any day.
I always tell the group "bring a T2 for extra ammo and fuel so we can just keep hopping"
The more covert cynos the better, same with fuel.
