I was in a game with a test server like this and they too removed the server access. I suspect the reason for removing, might have been more players started using it over the actual server. On that game server, the test server allowed god-like mode at a fraction of the cost.
Itās their flagship, if they need feedback on how content is from players.
Are players just stuck in the station doing nothing. We need a mini game that lets us flip burgers in the station. At least that will get people thinking about the job of a fast food worker. I thought CCP would make casino games and go arcade eve. Imagine going to a casino station and gambling in texas holdem.
You mean I could have tested out my X-Large Ancillary Shield Booster, or rather accidentally hit it and not realised it was still on, and got a ā you are out of capacitor ā right at the gate of Kubinenā¦without having to flee when someone with 10,000 solo kills showed up ?
I voted no, but itās a qualified no in that I donāt think we need what the test server has been in the past: a general access playground for people to test fits and mess around in safety.
I do think we need a test server where expansion mechanics are deployed for targeted testing, analysis, and player feedback before they hit Tranquility. The current dev model seems to be ādeploy to live and then patch, patch, patch until we get it right.ā And I donāt think that is working well.
Thereās a reason they voted no⦠no to what sisi was⦠but a more targeted sisi, like the mass tests, maybe more of them on a regular basis⦠targeted to what ccp wants to test.
I think one of the things that led to getting rid of sisi, was the fact that too many people were using sisi to test out abyssals and other game play safely before doing it on the main server and therefore already having an advantage over those who chose not to test.
