They do have a much stronger active tank than their t1 counterparts. And a smaller passive tank so aren’t oppresive in fleets.
I?M SORRY (for the caps), I wanted to highlight it with a different color, so it was clearer, or put a hyperlink. No need to get bad about it, sorry mate, I really had no intentions. I try to use caps as rythmick elements, not SHouting, elements, that’s monovision.
I respect your POW, but if it’s a repetition, I try to highlight the subject, thus I used caps.
It’s a hard question. But keep it at a human level, please.
Apology accepted.
Sorry I misread your enthusiasm as anger.
I think Lesican’s answer is correct.
This regard VANGUARD Fleets, or PVP, Empire Vs EMPIRE Fleets???
We are talking in both ways to multiBillion operations, where it’s easy to see a sub-capital,
a Carrier, and other XXL GUNS ships around. Maybe the context required a buff in the sub-capital direction instead of nerfing the BS sector.?
Ty for your answer, it is surely one BIG factor at play here.
All of the above, + small gang/mid gang / wormhole pvp and PVE.
You can’t balance a game properly if you base it around 1 use case and not looking at the bigger picture
Marauders and their Bastion are designed with PvP in mind. Yes, players do use them in PVE content and they do also massively out perform T1 in damage potentiel. That said, I would have to agree with FC that Marauders are too powerful and I would not be against banning the use of Bastion modules in HS.
I DIDN’T GET ONE WORD YOU SAID! but I put a like anyway. (caps used in negative mode)
Marauders, in PVE, can double or triple the damage output compared to their T1 counterparts - a T1 battleship can get between 1800 to 2k DPS on avg. while the Marauders with similar setup can do 4-6k DPS
And bring back Marauders to ESS is pointless robbing ESS when you cant bait Marauder into ESS
And what is the justification for this? Next you’ll be suggesting that the Porpoise and Orca can’t activate an industrial core in high-sec as well…
A clear path of progression in powerful tools to make profits, where HighSec is only the first stage. Players should have high incentives to move on to more difficult but much more rewarding areas of the game.
Also, from a pure balance point of view, Highsec is insanely lucrative - way too lucrative - for the risk attached. Not for the newbie, not for the average joe. But for the Veteran who has all tools available.
Cutting off that “top end” by disabling Bastion, removing Burners or disallowing T5/T6 abyss - but also removing the huge static ice belts and switch them out for small anos and medium sized scannable signatures would help to bring this environment better “in line” with other spaces, income wise.
The only problem with this change would be, that players are used to it and they would cry bitter tears should FC decide to “take something away from them”. In my opinion, any “special modes” should have been forbidden right from the start in HighSec, then nobody would complain.
Understandable that pure HS players won’t agree, but you can’t ask the frog if you want to dry the swamp.
After 2 years of Marauder/play style nerfs, FC should just be ecstatic that many of us are still playing. As the frog, I feel like I’m being slowly boiled to perfection (and not in a good way).
I imagine Porpoise or Orca owners would feel the same if industrial cores are similarly nixed.
If you take away Bastion I’d just switch to Rattlesnakes or Barghests and essentially achieve the same results. Most of us who’ve lived in high-sec for years know how to get the most out of whatever tools are at our disposal.
Take away L4s and the higher level Abyssals (not my thing), though - and most of us won’t riot - we’ll just logoff and let our subscriptions lapse.
I’m off to use (abuse, exploit?) my Marauders while I still can… and maybe finally finish this infernal event…
AH- removing BASTION- what an idea, that surely would work cutting “high end tools off”???
Your “Propaganda” that High Space is “too lucrative” is ludicrous…
So many fallacies in one sentence are really hard to come by.
If one tactic don’t work, switch target, undermine the habitat, make it unlivable…
I’ve seen this before…
Look at how lucrative is HS space…
Zkill showed just ONE kill for Poinen, I travelled throught it, opened the map, and more than 18 ships had been destroyed in the last hour. Gankers were in 8 Maller formations, assuming 2 x 8 = 16, then who was the target??? Safe…
If we nerf high-sec - we definitely have to nerf Pochven, as well.
Sure, thats why I said that doing that would cause a huge uproar amongst the players, once CCP gave those things to them, they can’t just take them away again without the players feeling robbed. But thats a common mistake CCP/FC always makes with their new stuff (see: Cenotaph). They spoonfeed the child sweets and choclate by making those things totally OP an extremely efficient, so many players will skill into them and use them. Then once they realize the whole family got diabetes, they wonder why everyone is crying bloody murder about the nerfs.
And thats because CCP/FC has lost long term vision in their game design. They want short excitement rushes and forget that the whole thing will backfire some day. Would you have never had the option to use Bastion in HS from the start and would it had been explained properly (aka giving players in dangerous areas higher reward options), most players would have accepted that. Because it makes sense.
Sry.
Not. Even. Close.
I have ungodly blinged Rattles, Machariels, Barghests and whatnot in HS and even a T2 fitted Marauder is more efficient by a mile.
Oh yeah 1h45mins of yapping and only 3 or 4 missions completed? No wonder
Way close - at least for 2/3 of my characters (should have noted that). My main would take a small hit, yes - but nothing Earth shattering. Thus affecting only 1/3 of my income (and not to any great extent) - I’d hardly notice it. Assuming I stuck around, that is.
That’s just an assumption based on your opinion…
And once again that’s just an assumption based on your opinion…
And as usual, that’s just an assumption based on your own opinion…
Yeah right, that would actually chase even more players away, basically be nailing down the lid on Eve’s Coffin…
High-sec is basically the low-hanging fruit or red-headed stepchild. Everyone seems to think that nerfing it into oblivion would force players into other areas and create more “content” for them. Pretty sure the reverse would be true and ganking would become non-existent and unprofitable overnight…
Unfortunately for you, my opinion is based on facts anyone can check for himself. Ganking is responsible for an absolutely miniscule percentage of losses overall and easily dodged as anyone who bothered to learn that can confirm. Same goes for the insane money-printing of HS. Compared to the dangers other regions in the game hold ready for the players, Highsec is a LaLaWonderland where the easy ISK grows on trees.
I am sorry that you are bad at the game, but it should really not be designed and balanced around the lazy Joe Shmock that moves brain afk in absolutely unnessessary bling fits into camps of hostile players that can be seen from miles away and are too stupid to exploit the profit options of HS efficiently.
