Broker Relations

Exactly this !

CCP are steering Eve into an economy of scarcity.
We need to buy space ships and parts to play the game.
Eve is going to be a lot less enjoyable when ships and module become scarce.

But what do they care …

Except that isn’t the case as there will be a shift to more production as the profits increase…supply and demand…

We are talking about absolutely certain to come decrease in profitability through an increase in fees.
Less profitability means less supply.

But please feel free to explain how an increase in brokers fees increases demand.

CCP openly says in their moon mineral distribution dev blog that their plan consists of three phases:

  • Shortage phase
  • Re-distribution phase
  • Dynamic distribution phase

Except for some entities with stockpiles, what Is this producer supposed to produce from?

Shortage doesn’t mean none…NE is huge. We’ll manage.

Yes sure but why do the few traders of Eve have to pay for 20 years of CCP neglecting ISK sinks ?
Can’t we distribute the load a little ?

Good traders profit in all economic states…

shortage
noun
a state or situation in which something needed cannot be obtained in sufficient amounts.

Some entities will manage, others won’t. Average availability on open market once ships become strategic resource? Doubtful if CCP is honest in its stated intentions.

Like I said, it doesn’t mean none.

Do you really think CCP is going to allow it’s game to run out of ships?

Because it hits human traders MUCH harder than bots.

Isn’t “shoddy and half-assed” the only way CCP knows how do to anything?

I believe, CCP wants to reduce ISK faucets, increase ISK sinks and entice stockpiles reduction. But what CCP wants might not be exactly what CCP gets and it still requires players cooperating. And many might have different plans. And if they are strong armed to do only what is in line with chosen CCP strategy then it is not a player driven game anymore isn’t it?

New Eden is player driven but CCP controls NE. You really need to understand this first before going off on conspiracy theories.

Mittani asked for scarcity and he is getting it.

Great! NE desperately needs lean times…

So long as they add the minerals to the NES, we won’t have a problem.

Cheeky bugger…

Only noobs and poors do that. I know people do it, but anyone who does is incompetent and has no idea what they are doing. Small time traders will .01 isk for days to make a little isk, but anyone running large amounts of isk is not going to waste their time.

Regardless, it is important for people in the market to adjust their prices. CCP’s tax will seriously undermine the market, and force people to resort to a barter economy, as the tax will cause people to avoid placing items on the market.

I will agree with all the proposed changes only if the option “Update the duration of market order / orders” is added to the game. This solves a lot of problems.
Want to sell / buy faster = offer an adequate price.
Was greedy = please pay a percentage for the price change.
