I found some strange “lost” capsules.
The names of their owners do not appear in local.
The capsules are at the sun lined up and bugging around.
I cannot scoop them in any way.
What is happening here?

Sound intriguing, love to know what happened, if you can’t scoop them up, try killing them to see if they generate KMs.
Yeah its going on for months now, I see them around pretty often.

Sometimes miners biomass while their pod is in space. Their pod is moved to the center of the sun (hell) and stays there until server maintenance.

So i came back there.
The capsules have moved to the center of the sun.
If i warp to them i dont even see them on the overview.
But i get agressivly warped out.
Next time i find those capsules in open space i kill them instantly.

I have a very old sun bounce bookmark in amarr which doesnt work anymore. I used to start npsi fleets by warping them to the sun, it was quite the experience for the newbros, thanks ccp
I am still curious how these capsules can occur.
Do you really think its biomass in space?
If it would be a single capsule i might be okay with it.

You can delete a chatacter only outside of the game through the launcher (?) or the character selection screen right. Not while online and in space. Correct me if wrong.
i might make an alt to test the biomassing in space hypothosis.

well, i can make an alt, log off in space, then biomass the character, then log on with my main and see what happens

These are probably database mishaps from pods being destroyed which would normally be removed. It used to be the case that all destroyed ships and pods got insta moved to a specific system and location in Dev space to then be deleted/flushed at downtime, they do it differently nowadays but I bet this is somehow related.
