alt with webs – Don’t rely on the game to save you.
Make friends – Join a corp or alliance with a standing fleet. A few buddies in interceptors etc can lock down a ganker’s escape and break their cycle.
Hire professionals – Use in-game services like hauling contracts (PushX, Red Frog, etc.) or mercenary escort. Paying a few million ISK is cheaper than losing a freighter.
Fly smarter – Use neutral alts to scout, check zKillboard for active gankers in Uedama, and avoid peak gank hours. Time your haul when they’re not online.
If they would finally allow real fittings for freighters, all that would be a non existing issue.
Bowhead, Avalanche and even Orcas show for years that it is absolutely possible to design ships of that size with a set of fitting slots that allow pilots to use multiple options of countering ambush attempts in different ways.
When I say “Fitting”, that of course include rig slots. The claim “it can’t be done” is literally ridiculous.
Just take an Orca as reference and scale the values up/down as you want to have it. Separate a normal small Cargo bay for refit modules and a Freight Cargo bay limited to below 1.3M m³, so no dumbass can claim “but then you could move Capitals into Highsec!!11111” and there we go.
Well, I wanted to be 100% clear that I’d like rigs as well! And yes, a small (regular) cargo bay for refits would be a godsend! Not only can this be done - it should’ve been done a long time ago…
Sure 30 catatlysts turning in perfect timing at the exact same moment running from gate to gate is just because someone is some kind of eve pvp god. Stop trying to cover your sins. It might attract attention to you
Not entirely sure how we went from bumping exploits to multiboxing to input broadcasting - all within a few posts…
• Give freighters real fittings (mids, rigs and at least one or two highs).
• Implement the suggestions the OP suggested (fairly reasonable).
It won’t prevent a freighter gank - but it will prevent players from keeping the freighter on-grid long enough to bat-phone every ganker they can reach. I don’t know why if you’re late or don’t show to the party why the invitation gets extended indefinitely…

Brother, you need seven accounts to hold a freighter down with bumps for infinite now. If a hauler had seven accounts hes not getting ganked.
All this “freighter loses because he’s too poor for multiboxing” kind or argument does is fueling the anti-multiboxer sentiments but doesn’t really help.

We can replace the word account with friends. Seven accounts, seven friends, same thing. If a player has more people on their team, they have an advantage in whatever group setting they’re going to be in. If a player has less people on their team, they will be at a disadvantage in an engagement.
Lets take a single account hauler. Lets take a single account bumper. The bumper BY HIMSELF can only bump the freighter for the bump limit of three minutes. As we scale up the number of players on each side’s team, they can do more and more things.
bumping is a lame tactic as a whole and should not exist, let lone do harm to players which can’t be “legally” attacked by gankers anyway. If you wanna hold him down, send your tacklers and commit on the spot right now.
