Genuinely hilarious to me that virtually every time someone starts prattling on about input broadcasting, they ultimately end up describing fleet warps.
Hi.
And thank you for taking the time to create this post.
Just to chime in, how about introducing a low slot freighter module that is a one time use and only one per ship. It could take 4000m³ space.
It would instawarp you and spool time of 30 seconds
They should have implemented a collision damage mechanic right from the start of the game. Then nobody would claim today “this would be totally impossible to implement”. ![]()
Come to Uedama and watch @Prime_Admiral in action, and you will see his Catalysts going criminal in sequence (there’s your hint), not all at once.
But once you reach the number of suicide tackles required to sustain beyond the first criminal timer, that is the “point of no escape” - it’s good thing no one shoots at bumpers, eh?
There are other solutions, just no one willing to risk their own asse(t)s.
This is not a thread about tips to avoid bumps or ganks. It’s about if CCP should continue to work toward achieving 2 of its 3 stated goals in 2019: “Ending Infinite Griefing / Gridlock” and “Forcing Commitment to Gank”.
I disagree. In 2019 a bumper was already “burning” their time. The toons doing this are regular gankers, so they’re not dedicated toons meant for solely this tactic–therefore, no investment of multiple accounts for this. Because they’re gankers and choose not to spend the isk to buy tags, they remain and operate at sec status -10. Again no cost. “Risking Concord” doesn’t make any sense. There is no risk. Concord will come if you gank. That’s a guarantee. And that toon waiting 15 minutes is no time invested on that toon. The bumper is already investing that time. The multi-boxer bumper is expending more brain power to manage a 2nd toon while bumping with the other, so I’ll grant you that.
I’m not referring to changing anything in null or low. I’m only referring to high sec, and I’m not referring to wardecs or limited engagements. I’m only referring to gank situations which are already limited to short-term engagements (25 seconds or less) by Concord. If you have the gank force, gank the ship within 3 minutes or face increasing difficulty to hold it longer. It could even adjust based on the system sec status the same way that Concord response times do.
The solution seems simple to me. The timer should never reset, the ship should enter warp after the timer is complete, unless it’s actively warp disrupted. This case the ship should enter warp the first tick this disruption ended.
Alts in corvettes are absolutely free, especially if you have a buddy in an alpha doing it who deletes the characters when they burn through sec status and are too lazy to repair it.
“Stop trying to change the game” is a lame take my guy. It’s not a “change” it’s an improvement. You simply don’t like it.
The entire reason the 3 minute change was made was to prevent an obvious abuse of game mechanics. This post is about repairing another obvious abuse of game mechanics that was used to get around the first fix. It was already determined that permanent tackle via bumping is unacceptable. Simply because you now have to throw a corvette at it every 2 and a half minutes does not in any way mean that it was fixed. It’s still very much an abuse of game mechanics and should absolutely not be happening.
Completely agree. This is an obvious abuse. The 3 minute rule was put in place to prevent perma-tackle via bumping. Adding a requirement to throw a corvette at the freighter every 2 and a half minutes is not actually doing anything to fix that. They half-assed their solution and walked away from it.
A proper fix is in order. Delete the combat timer function entirely. There is no reason for it to exist.
This is not how we do this. We aren’t using alpha to point freighters. Pointing characters are not free.
alphas in hisec cannot do any pointing, or anything combat related to another pilot in hisec.
If a hauler had 4 talos escorting them, I wouldnt be bumping it
after 20+ years of freighters in game, you’d think the devs have certain vision. And if mega-tank freighters was part of that vision, it would be in the game already.
Explain to me please, how in your view of New Eden does someone with Alpha account activate any offensive module towards a freighter in hisec?
Hint - they don’t , as Alphas cannot set their safety to red. Please learn about game mechanics before you comment on them, as this just shows lack of understanding where the issue actually is.
Can’t you bump the bumpers, and free the freighter?
But then they’d have to actually play the game, and not just whine on the forums about how others are playing the game.
I have the combat logs. If you want them…
Post them as a screenshot
I’m excited
We can wipe out the evil gankers once and for all, you finally have the proof
Just make Bumping a combative act. Then start the Concord timer.
