So eve online has gone that bad now anything gets ganked in high sec including t3’s etc to small groups of thrashers ?

I was basically just sat a 0.9 gate checking my alt for a quick second and 9 thrashers were able to wreck me before I could even switch back to do anything. Seems a complete joke to me.

No wonder player numbers are now heading back to all time lows.

Why would you sit on a gate to check an alt? Should have docked up before doing so, or have both screens showing

What’s even the point of this post? To show off to everyone that you made one of the most basic of mistakes in EVE Online by going afk and not paying attention? Then somehow implying that’s causing player counts to hit “all time lows”? How does that even make any sense?

You came back to Eve without bothering to check zkill for what the heck is going on in the space where you were operating or plan to operate . You got ganked in Josameto , that system and the other systems around it have constant ganking activity .
What I cannot explain is how they managed to gank you , when you had a cov op cloak fitted… You were too comfortable to activate it while sitting at a gate, knowing that t3c’s are paper thin and that they can be ganked by several Thrashers or 2 Tornadoes/Vexors.

it sucks it happened but take it as a learning experience. I’m surprised people are still able to get into ships in 0.6 systems with -10.0 sec status and able to gank someone before dying.

he was on top of a gate from his explanation, that should tell you why it wasnt active.

Don’t try to defend him , because he has simply no excuse.
Even if it was at 0 on a gate , the moment he got yellowboxed , or the moment he saw those Thrashers landing , he should have just jumped on the other side.

You must be new to this.

Trusting gate cloak to keep you safe past the gate cloak timer is a silly move. If you know you are going to switch screens, use your own cloak - and check for inbound ships that may be heading over to decloak you before you swap clients. Flying defensively is on the pilot, as always.

defend him no, I was helping to explain why he wasnt cloaked because unless you’ve never flown a cov-ops ship you would know that anything within proximity of the ship would decloak it.

But he wasn’t close to the gate. Assuming he had just jumped into the system, you spawn in far enough to not interfere with cloaking. But where he died was over 160km from the gate - so he wasn’t even sitting on the gate at that point.

9 Thrashers involved with t1 cheap fits (about 3 mil ISK for each fitted ship), so around 27 mil ISK in total.
His Legion had about 370 mil ISK in bling , it dropped 138 mil ISK in loot . The ganker made 111 mil ISK profit + salt post + lost SPs by the pilot.

You were careless, High sec doesn’t mean it’s completely safe far from it. Next time if you want to hang about on a gate cloak up and don’t go AFK.
