Maybe you should buy a new computer that has regular windows installed and play EVE on that, if you cant get it to work on Linux.

Maybe something is wrong with you download , perhaps it is corrupt.
This is so weird. I just download the tar file and run ./evelauncher.sh and everything worked fine.
