Yeah, might want to roll with T1 drones. You’ll lose some damage, but losing them won’t eat into your profits. Also, that was a particular bad break on the loot. I mean, don’t expect amazing drop rates, but each site’s haul is usually a lot better than that.

I suppose so, was same last event. Good drops didn’t happen for a while for me. Seems stingy though, you are right on that account.
That range thing bothers me though. I do alot of Guristas PvE so used to jammers at range but that was absolutely rediculous. I wouldn’t want to rock the sites without drones, given the large number of anchoring and starving I had. Great way to lose my ship. Definitely not worth losing the ship for these rewards.
On the plus side however, at least it’s not another Gila/Rattlesnake event.

Thanks very much for the writeup. I was about to go in with a very bling Cyclone fit, based on this, then had a momentary fit of reason and decided to look around on zkill first and try and find a test site on sisi. No luck on sisi, sadly. I think I’ll do it a slightly bling fit Cane first. The only thing that worries me is that I haven’t done any Trig stuff since the resists nerf. I’ll try with a bog standard T2 fit first that can just about handle Angel Vigils and see from there.

Does anybody use Naga, Oracle or Talos for the event?
Attack battle cruisers will be hard to run the sites with, since they have 0tank and run large weapons (no application to the frigs and dessies)

I thought about it, but assumed that the rats are like diamond rats, and will warp to you. So, if you don’t move fast enough to move outside of their tackle range before they can lock you, you’ll get tackled. But, I don’t know.

Yes. You can do these sites in a T2 fitted Drake, I’ve done around 5 sites so far. It is full passive, shield extenders and amplifiers, etc, but I do have perfect shield skills (all skills at level 5)

What ships? Do we know what class or things like that, race? Is there an article I can read on it?
They’re triglavians (mix of frigs, destroyers, and cruisers). Notable ewar includes neuts and scrams. You can find their stats under the “new items” section here.

Oh, sorry. I should have looked at the post you were replying to. Anyway, all we have is speculation at this point (mostly based upon the Eclipse trailer and CCP saying that we’ll be getting new ships and weapons).
The ship that shoots the “chain lightning” weapon is being referred to as the “zappy boy.” Of course, my biggest question is will it have IFF capabilities.
Anyway, people are speculating that we will see it really soon. Additional speculation is that it might use the precursor ship and weapon skills, but I haven’t heard any compelling arguments to back that up.

This is a joke. If this is a preview of what CCP plans to add to all pve content to increase the “challenge” then this game is truly dead in the water. Neuts and Scrams are not interesting or fun or challenging, it simply reduces the game to a slot machine where the winning pull means you lose your ship.
For the record, yes I tried it and finished it. It was a complete waste of time, and with the neuts and scrams it’s only matter of time before luck runs out and there is nothing you can do about it.

Rats stay at around 5-7k (except the Rodiva) so you want to have an optimal around that range - this is why the Brutix works so well.
The Oracle can’t get optimal that close even with the smallest Large pulse lasers.
Talos or Naga with double web both work well as a meme fit but it’s significantly harder to get cap stable against neut pressure, and being neuted out is one of the real challenges in this event.
Autocannon Tornado doesn’t seem to have the right level of dps.
