Are you new to MMOs and free2play?
The skins are a way of making money from alphas in the first place.

There’s no shortage of mugs who’ll pay for it.
If selling overpriced virtual items is what they need to do to keep EVE afloat then I’d say there’s a problem.

Goodness…
If you feel it is over-priced just don’t buy it. If somebody does buy it then clearly they do not think it is over priced.
This is why the average person sucks when it comes to economics and economic policy. They think their own subjective valuation of something holds true for everybody else.
There’s no shortage of mugs who’ll pay for it.
So? This means that if you don’t pay for it and those sales help support the game you are in essence “free riding” on those “mugs”. You should be happy about this. So dry your tears and save your salt for something truly deserving. Take your consumer surplus and be happy FFS.
Despite popular belief, red paint does infact not make your ride go faster.
Wot? GIT 'IM BOYZ!

You’re under no obligation to buy it, and tbh if you can’t afford it then that’s too bad but that’s the way it goes. Stop thinking you’re entitled to everything under the sun.
This argument is invalid. All these things should be included in the game for the sub, not for extra money.
Assuming there are idiots who have far more cash than brains, then EVERYONE who pays for their game-time with plex they earn in-game are subsidizing there purchases. If demand increases for plexes, well, you know the rest. Basic economics.
And that is just wrong. But not that CCP cares about the small income players. Once again, they demonstrate they only care about the null sec cartel members that can afford this lunacy, or the REAL idiots who are willing to buy plex with real cash for this mess.
Please stop acting like a couple billion isk is hard to come by. For those that want to spend real money on vanity items - more power to them.

The only salt here is being produced by your good self. I’m perfectly happy for mugs to finance my hobby.

Shouldnt it be “more vanity to them”?
tbh, i’d rather have skins & cie that costs 20-40 or more than have EVE become a P2W. If people want to spend 40 in skins, what then ? It’s their choice and their money.
You don’t have to agree with the price, but you don’t have to buy them also. (or you can wait for someone to sell them for iskies)
i think youre confused about what microtransactions are
it makes no difference if a game is ftp or not
you know i pay full retail for deus ex md
it still has microtransactions
and saying its not a microtransaction because of the sum of money involved is irrelevant
because the sum is subjective
Mankind Derided? and sequel. Not safe for work.
That cash shop was full of things so you could pay to not play the game (which actually was balanced without the cash shop), and was ordered to be included randomly two weeks before release because… upper management decided it wanted to include them two weeks before.
The first two had cheats which you could use for free. Then game companies figured out people would pay a lot of real money to cheat in the private little game world they already paid for without running too many people off because people are idiots.

Great then take your consumer surplus and bugger off.
And once more, the marketing department fail @CCP_Falcon
The Sungrazer SKINS have returned (admittedly a few days ago shutupIwasbusy) and cost nearly £120 / €134.98 / $158.46 for the lot. Still less than the Jubilee skins but still far too much.
Thats nearly £7 / €7.87 / $9.24 per skin on average. That is still ridiculous. Does the marketing team understand the concept of micro transaction? Or did it get lost in translation into Viking? (and if it doesn’t translate into “PILLAGE THEIR WALLETS!” please find out what that would be…)
You do understand that CCP is an investor-backed company that looks to make money by gasp selling services and some virtual goods, right?
Don’t like it, then don’t buy it. Simple, no?
unemployed communist, in a nutshell.
Honestly its just to take more money from you guys. Subscription is not enough in these times. Deal with it.
Or dont…
Subscription is not enough in these times.
CCP has to somehow make up for all the players that left because of their ■■■■■■■■ decisions in recent years, don’t they?

You’re a moron.

You know what Hilmar would have said if they would have been cheaper? He’d have told the guys in charge that they have no balls and then cranked up the price himself.
