CCP - Ganking

In addition to this, if you find yourself a quiet one-gate dead-end system, it becomes a lot easier to keep tabs on everyone entering the system, as no-one is “just passing through” (except perhaps the occasional wormholer). This makes it trivially easy to keep an eye out for gankers, but you have to not be AFK to take advantage of it.

This thread is amazing. Invuln modules indeed

can i fit these invulnerability mods on my carriers or dreads when i go ratting? seems unfair if you ask me

PULSE ACTIVATED NEXUS INVULNERABILITY CORE (P.A.N.I.C.) Already exists in this game… you want to try to be a smart ass, do it some where else.

The Pulse Activated Nexus Invulnerability Core (P.A.N.I.C.) is a new defensive superweapon available exclusively to the Rorqual Industrial Capital Ship. It allows the Rorqual to make itself, as well as its allies, invulnerable for a short time. The activation causes a Weapons Timer for the user.

So they give people tools in null sec where there is no concord to prevent being ganked… but not highsec LOOOOOOL

That’s EXACTLY what it needs! :smiling_imp:

Your balance = They have too much hp to be killed. Miniluv is the only group that can actually get 30+ pilots consistently, theyd prolly just stop playing if you double or tripled the health of freighters. It would make them cost more to gank than the profit you’d receive, ganking isn’t cheap.

You just want a hugbox so you can haul without any risk or effort. We have to use 15-20+ characters to gank freighters, thats 14-19+ more characters than the lone freighter on autopilot, why isn’t that balanced? It isn’t hard to web, triple bulk and keep loot under 3bil. Disgusting carebear greed at work here.

The balance is DON’T GET CAUGHT… Don’t fill your freighter to the brim and put your ship on ap. Suicide gank the bumping ship. Use an alt to warp to in the direction you’re being bumped. You’d rather complain on the forums instead of taking even the minimum precautions or efforts to either not get in that situation or get yourself out of it.

75m of cats to kill a JF :joy: hahahaha

We lose our ships.

Again nobody can really field these numbers. Don’t even bother skirting around it, you just want freighters to be ungankable even when the dumbest pilots set ap through Uedama and put 60bil in a triple antitank freighter.

Because we have 6-24 seconds to kill something, not untill a response fleet or downtime ticks along.

These threads with dumbos posting their idea for completely changing EvE into a different game do get old after a while, but that’s I guess why CODE. are the heroes the game needs. Without us here you’d be free to bot and afk all you like.

You can thank us for the freedom we give you by buying a mining permit (just send me 10mil in game and I’ll set you on the right path).

Even if there was a module, let’s call it an emergency damage control unit, similar to the one coming for HACs and AFs, it would still only be useful for miners at the keyboard.

you know what they should say but they dont?

better to be a smart ass than dumbass lol

exactly… which is perfect… if you are not being responsible and at your keyboard. you risk loosing your stuffs. no more mining bots? too bad.

How many actual mining bots are getting wrecked by CODE?

Any reasonable estimates (plz no hyperbole)?

We have no valid method to quantify that, unfortunately.

Understood, but even a rough anecdotal estimate based on the behavior of the targets as bots, would be informative of how many bots may be operating in those areas of HS.

Perhaps one might go about getting an estimate of who aren’t bots within a particular area by praising CODE. in local and tallying the immediate replies.

I would say in my experience 5-10% are exhibiting signs of straight-out botting. That probably underestimates the real rate several fold as it can be very hard to tell a bot, especially a very good bot that looks like a player, or a bad one that looks like an AFK player. At least without repeated monitoring.

I would say though that 75% or more are not at their keyboards, at least not with their attention fully on the game. So the number of bots in highsec is probably anywhere from 10-50% in my estimation.

Well the Code correct reply might be - anyone AFK, max yield fit or anti-tanked is exhibiting bot aspirant behaviour and so is indistinguishable from a bot anyway.

So maybe 95% of highsec miners?

/jokes

we know human miners monitor and participate in local probably no better than a bot.

No offense, but if you want to mine in highsec, I don’t see why you shouldn’t mine with procurers/skiffs

They have way more survivability for only a fraction less mining capacity

Only a fool would mine in anything other than a tanked ship, especially when it costs half a bil (cough cough hulk and mackinaw)
