CCP hates miners = confirmed

I make about 18 bill a month with just one toon.

Then it’s not inflation. If you are a farmer who sells apples and suddenly other farmers stop growing and selling apples then your profit per apple goes up. That is not inflation.

If I were such a farmer seeing other farmers give up on producing apples I’d be super happy, in fact if I was able and willing to invest more time&effort I’d probably expand my apple production.

From people who had the working braincells to stay in apple production. Food and people who actually produce goods or services are always in demand and the less people who do that the better is it for them.

Compare it to how over the years honest work is looked down upon, jobs like mechanics, plumbers etc etc. Jobs that ACTUALLY add something to the economy. Suddenly people all wanted to get in to banking etc etc.

These days people who work in banks are seen for what they are and there’s so many of them they can’t really get any job that pays well. In the mean time that down to earth plumber who everyone looks down on, who enjoys his work and is GOOD at it, has high income.

Back to EVE: Changing plex prices doesn’t come from inflation so much, it’s mostly supply vs demand.

No, the players who buy plex from the website and sell it in game, THOSE ā€œproduceā€ the apples. CCP can’t increase or decrease plex production, only players can. So again, inflation has very little to do with it.

Look at prices of other products in the game, generic goods where supply vs demand is mostly stable. They’ve not really changed over the years.

Unlike the U.S. economy, where the Federal Reserve just prints money out of thin air, introducing inflation, CCP doesn’t ā€œprintā€ PLEX and add it to the market. Players have to buy it from CCP, then sell it on the market.

exactly, RL inflation is mostly a result of this idiotic concept called ā€œFederal Reserveā€ and the equivalents in other countries. Which aren’t federal or nation owned btw.

EVE doesn’t have such a concept and as such a large cause for inflation doesn’t exist.

And regardless of whether or not inflation exists in EVE the test for it absolutely should not be PLEX. PLEX is its own separate thing that has nothing to do with the rest of the EVE economy or game mechanics in general, and is subject to external forces unrelated to EVE. For example, if there’s a recession and fewer people have cash to buy PLEX then PLEX prices will go up. Does that somehow count as inflation even though nothing else about the EVE economy has changed?

The several hundred (if not thousands) less subbed Rorqual accounts will hurt the salt collectors far more than you may think…
2 indy accs, 13 pvp related accs including 3 dedicaterd supers - out never to return - I won Eve

No you can’t have my stuff, it is all being self destructed, including the 30 odd characters on my accs.
15 years of Eve and they finally managed to find the right way to get rid of me.,.

You are all panicking, remember when they said they
were going to change things in rapid succession and shake things up? They’ll add chaos, during the chaos era? In the words of the immortal Dennis Leary. ā€œLife sucks. Buy a helmet.ā€ For a bunch of the smartest players in the world, playing the hardest game in the world, I’m reading a lot of comments that sound like someone spilled strawberry quik on their Pokemon cards…

Who doesn’t hate miners?

Well, eventually when current miners stop mining, you are the one that gets that venture to the belt because otherwise you don’t have a ship to fly

You overestimate your value miner. If all of you quit today, no one will miss you.

People that take it seriously, fit properly and are playing the game as intended are great and I have nothing against them.

It’s the ones here that whine about buffs/nerfs, complain about gankers 24/7 and claim that everyone leaves Eve because of XYZ…so that’s why they are entitled to more ABC…those I hate…

No. Eventually trash like you will stop mining.

There are plenty of good miners who don’t cry and whine and complain like you. They will take your place. We’ll pay a little extra for the minerals, but it’s a good trade to get rid of you kids and your sorry crybaby asses.

A rough back-of-the-envelope calculation says that players have mined enough resources in the last 3 years to satisfy the next 10 years worth of destruction.

Ok, there are a bunch of caveats, but so much wealth has flooded into this game recently, there is no danger of real shortages during the month or so CCP says they want to analyze things.

These episodes of public pouting and threats of players to destroy their toys are both embarrassing and amusing to watch. It’s a video game people, and it might be changing oh so very slightly. Use the time to try something else, or mine something else even, or take a break. When you come back, if CCP has done their job right, mining should be in a better place and you rewarded even more for your efforts.

Haha, I don’t see that I’ve complained about anything. Just saying that you have to realise that if miners stop mining, you, yes you, are the one that has to mine if you want to fly anything.

Are you all PVP people that angry all the time in real life too?

Imagine being this dumb and full of yourself.
I already told you. Trash like you will stop.
The good players will stick around.
The game will improve overall.

win win for everyone involved.

Yeah, I should have understood the first time that you have hard time to comprehend what I wrote. Sorry for getting your hearthrate up this early.

Again, more self centered attitudes. This is why no one likes miner trash like you.

One of those caveats is huge, that no minerals are ever taken out of the system by people quitting.
If we use active isk delta as a guide, about 20 - 30% of isk earned is removed. If we then apply that to minerals that dramatically changes the maths, as does the fact that minerals mined are not the total value of a ship made from them, there is value added along the way.

Not to dispute the fact that more is mined than destroyed, but lets not blow the figures out of proportion, it’s much closer than you are making out.

Edit. Also shut up Balos.
