Look man. I play this game because oft how it works right now and many do the very same thing. But it is just a game. It’s not the end of the world if EVE suddenly ceases to be EVE and becomes the carebear paradise you wish.
I would simply stop playing it and move on. But as long as it stays EVE I will probably play it because I get the entertainment I want.
You on the other hand seem to be overly invested in a game you don’t even like. That’s really tragic in a sense. You don’t look for something to play that suits you instead you build your hope up that the core aspect of a 15 year old game you clearly hate completely change to your likeing. That’s pretty sad.
And please don’t act like you represent “the new generation” who suddenly hates competitive games and just wants to carebear. Because you don’t. I know EVE players of almost every age, young and old and they all manage and find the game interesting as it is.
It’s obviously not for everyone. But please don’t make it look like the “PvE” players are all on your side, because they are not. Most people do a variety of things in this game because it is not the classic game where you do some PvE dungeons and then go for a round of PvP into an arena. EvE is real. Most build stuff and take up weapons when in need, when the time comes to defend their stuff or for revenge or to fight over space etc, there are actual reasons here… And people manage, not only “PvPers”, but many many other who call themselves who knows what, industrialist, miner, mission runners, salvagers, explorers, people who understand the sandbox nature of this game and enjoy the deep meaning it has because of the dangers there are.
Did it ever come to your mind that you just suck at the game and are overly bitter about it? You are another FabRod alt right? Still crying about that one Mammoth you lost… seriously
no this is the game where some people think that any change to the game will kill the game even if this change is wanted and necessary because they think their way to see the game is carved into stone for all time…
Again as apparently you can’t hear in the cheap seats ;
empire war, the topic of the thread , wasn’t changed.
It collapsed into spamming hubhumping degenerate lechery because the adjacent mechanics it relied upon were altered ,
leaving it
…
Are you listening?
…
No really are you listening?
… In need of change.
Only “Professional” and “aggressor” engaged in PvP regularly, that wass about 38% of subscribers (not accounts, not characters, but unique users).
As for the “25 %”, it’s a very old number from when CCP said that, according to surveys, only 25% of the new players stated that they had joined EVE because of the PvP. We’re talking 2009 or 2010, very old data.
It’s being disabled, because the recent battles in null-sec have produced a huge spam of messages and in order to allow for even more players to take part in these fights is CCP exploring options how to reduce server and client load.
In his case, yes. He has been spamming the forum with false comments for a while now. Always proclaiming how EVE wasn’t a PvP game and how it’s a PvE game. Every comment he has made so far is a total fabrication of nonsense. He doesn’t even play the game, has got no character, and only trolls the forum. He is deliberately stupid.
If they really did that, they would look elsewhere. Yesterday, during the X47 abomination the server was calculating hundreds of killrights and bounty server requests (in Null Sec!) while I was waiting for my ship to jump out of system. That should be something to look at to improve server performance. And by that I mean completely disabled on that node or in that system and not just “not displayed”, because that means they are still being processed and cause unnecessary load.
