When the traveller sends “warp” at 0.9 of the tick …
… and the camper receives it at 0.0 - 0.1 of the next tick …
… the server receives “lock target” at, example, 0.3 …
… and boom, he’s locked.
With a good ping and the right timing it’s totally doable. People are mislead by the idea that the server only sends data once every second. They don’t consider that the server processes all incoming packets based on their time of arrival and they also don’t consider that late packets, which still make it into the current tick, are still being sent out.
Or, in other words …
… people who believe that the outcome of an action takes one full second to become visible …
… are sorely mistaken.
This is a connection/lag thing. Align times of 2 seconds and under cannot be stopped at a gate.
It takes 2 server ticks to make a lock. One to initiate and one to confirm a successful lock. So as long as the target clicks warp before the tackler presses lock (which is always the case from a gate cloak), the target will ‘finish aligning’ before the end of the second tick and the lock will fail to confirm.
Indeed, the majority of people “reporting” this either just messed up or had a (short) connection issue.
The chance of running into this super amazing tackler who has everything maxed, a perfect UI and overview setting and is actually paying attention is far FAR lower than the chance of just fcking up yourself.
That people are pre-programmed to go back to high sec to buy things.
Tax that gets charged even if the item does not sell, not to mention stupidly high tax rates in general, and this was already in a system as lvl 5 in fw with the tax reduction and it was still crazy high enough to make a massive loss in the billions.
You’re pre-programmed to expect that people will buy your ■■■■ just because it’s there. It did not occur to you that people aren’t expecting to find the stuff they need on a lowsec market, so why would they be looking at the market in the first place?
You did NO advertising …
… and people didn’t buy ■■■■ from your structure!
It doesn’t really matter how many friends you’ve got. They all show up on d-scan and none can tackle fast ships on a gate. Fleet size or fit doesn’t come into it.
This isn’t like carebears saying something is impossible when other players are demonstrating it is in fact is possible. Like you can’t show me a video of someone catching these players.
This is a prime example of high rewards and low risk. Something CCP are actively trying to remedy.
Keep laughing, farmer trash. Enjoy it while you can. When CCP decides to close your loophole and leave you without your easy way to ass-blast money into your wallet, I’ll be enjoying reading your rage-quit post, just like you farmer trash post every single time we go through these cycles.
Low sec players are not like high and null they don’t need hand holding they will see these things for themselves.
The problem was not that they didn’t know (as a few people asked me about it) it was that they where so used to jita runs that they would rather do the whole jita run and save that 4% mark up and spend it on fuel rather.
Exactly! CODE. are just a bunch of paper tigers. Most of them don’t even know how to warp by themselves, without the FC doing it for them.
Honorable carebears should just get together and wardec CODE. They would be able to clear high-sec of the menace quickly, because CODE. is full of month-old idiots who are too afraid to get on grid with anything that can shoot back. Most of them have never even seen a fleet battle before.
