CCP Rattati Suggested A Fantastic Change: Alliance/Corps ability to Tax other Income Streams

I would agree that changes like this (corp taxation channels) are needed to put more “tools” in the hands of players so they can do the sandbox thing and make their own stories.

I would also remind that the first thing you want to do with any significant change/proposal is say “How would various groups in the game, large and small, go about ‘breaking’ or exploiting this?”. Because exploiting it for maximum advantage is the first thing that will be tried, from the Nullblocs to the “Welcome new player join our corp!” scam emails.

As to the difficulty of taxing LP, there is generally a solution to these things if you’re creative. For instance, if LP is coded oddly and can’t be taxed directly, then add a column to the LP store when the LP is spent showing “Corp LP tax paid” and make it a simple multiplier against the LP spent. If they can put ISK etc. in as an input cost on the table then they can add a tax as well.

I’ll be surprised if changes in taxation can do a whole lot.

There are two kinds of people. People who want to see their organization succeed and who contribute to it, whether there is a tax or not, and people who don’t care about their organization and won’t join a group that levies a tax on their income.

I suppose you can simplify bookkeeping with this if you want to charge everyone a flat rate, but if you can’t trust your corp mates to make an honest effort to pay their fair share, then I think a corporation has bigger problems than the game’s tax system, or lack thereof, to worry about.

Thank you for posting an actual idea rather than braying like a donkey on crack (for once). Have a like.

A couple of small refinements: I think maybe Low and WH should offer the best rewards, because those are actually the most dangerous spaces. So the reward tree would look something like:
Low → WH → NPC Null → Sov Null → High. With a significant dropoff in the best rewards for Sov null and then again for High.

As for bells and whistles added to the mix, one significant issue with EVE PvE is that after it’s been run a couple times, people can post the makeup of it and everyone knows exactly what’s going to appear in what order and what needs to be done to minmax it every time.

CCP should strongly consider some elements of randomness in their PvE setup, such that you can get different waves appearing at different times, triggers or location, and possibly random “environment” effects that occur when entering. Not something that would just make it totally inconvenient to run, but enough so that the outcome isn’t entirely predictable each time. And which might leave players exposed in space a little longer so PvP would get a little boost.

I agree that a tax won’t ‘fix’ a corp that players don’t care enough to support. However simplified bookkeeping actually does solve some corporate support problems.

  • It’s more predictable and reliable.
  • It makes sure everyone is contributing the base amount, so people feel everyone is contributing.
  • You don’t have to nag players for support or keep track of and kick deadbeats.
  • If there was a ledger or tracking system it would also provide an excellent way to evaluate the activities the corp members are engaging in and see if the corp needs to make changes.

Seriously? I don’t believe it.

Believe it. He really does bray like a donkey on crack.

I evaluate posts and what’s said in them, and react accordingly. If even a fool says something useful, I won’t disregard it just because he’s a fool.

Ha ha, nice one, I think your know what I was surprised about though.

In my previous experience of him he would only do that when people were ignoring him, so once he got a hook that made people respond to him because he was actually saying something worthy of replying to, he would start anew with the braying as you put it. :stuck_out_tongue: You did make me laugh.

I was thinking that the easiest way to collect would be a percentage of the LP, but the complexity of that is how it gets treated and stored at the corp level, like who gets access etc. could get messy…

PS 4 blocked replies that I will never look at, WTG, thanks for the laugh.

Of course you can.

By not adding such content.

The PvE content in this game is repetitive garbage. Unfortunately, it’s very predictable and farmable repetitive garbage, and any efforts to make it dynamic will be met with a lot of resistance. So at the very least stop adding even more opportunities for players to mindlessly multi-box their wallet increases.

Bro lets not front that you blocked me. We already know you didn’t. Embarrassing

Oh? At least I play the game bro.

Erm. I wouldn’t try to front so hard bro. Aiko bullied you into spending real life money/time into subbing again. You got ganked.

Drama-queening in public about blocking people and then not even doing it is like the worst form of cringe-posting. It’s even worse behavior than posting with an alt or chain-reporting posts like a backseat moderator.

True but I also feel it could be a good addition. But I feel CCP should discourage multi-boxing or at least make it harder but they won’t haha.

Very true. Someone reported like a billion of my posts LOL.
